The Military Public Prosecutor’s Office in Rio de Janeiro experienced, on October 28, 2025, a moment of deep institutional celebration with the Medal of Merit MPM Award Ceremony. The event, held at the headquarters of the Military Prosecutor’s Office, brought together civilian and military authorities, members of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, staff, and collaborators in a tribute marked by emotion, respect, and human appreciation.
Created by Ordinance No. 38/PGJM, dated February 21, 2024, the “Valor MPM” program reflects an attentive management approach that recognizes the dedication and commitment of its staff to strengthening the institution. The initiative grants diplomas, medals, and plaques to employees with between 5 and 40 years of exemplary service, celebrating their life stories, commitment, and contribution to the constitutional mission of the Military Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The event was organized by Administrative Coordinator Dr. Hevelize Jourdan Covas Pereira and Administrative Secretary Daiane de Figueiredo de Oliveira, with the support of MPM/RJ staff and collaborators who carefully planned every detail of the ceremony, reinforcing the spirit of unity and cooperation that characterizes the institution.
In her speech, the Administrative Coordinator of the Rio de Janeiro Military Prosecutor’s Office, Prosecutor of Military Justice Hevelize Jourdan Covas Pereira, shared reflections on resilience, gratitude, and institutional purpose, emphasizing the importance of the people who sustain the unit’s daily operations.
The prosecutor began her remarks by recalling memorable moments from her career at MPM, stating that “each step in this journey is an act of faith and perseverance.” She noted that the work in Rio de Janeiro is particularly challenging due to the intensity of demands and the complexity of cases, requiring balance, serenity, and teamwork.
“Every day, we are called upon to make difficult decisions and to deal with situations that require both sensitivity and technical expertise. But it is the support of colleagues, the cooperation of staff, and the spirit of unity that strengthen us to fulfill this mission,” she said.
“Nothing is built alone. The work of the Military Prosecutor’s Office is the result of the collective effort of every person who proudly wears the institution’s colors. We are all part of the same purpose – to serve society with justice, ethics, and humanity,” she concluded.
The event also featured remarks by Military Prosecutor Milord José Guimarães Silva, who expressed pride in being part of MPM and the privilege of working alongside colleagues who embody dedication, integrity, and commitment.
Milord Guimarães congratulated the honorees — Luiz Philippe da Costa e Silva, Fabiana Borges Ferreira Camardella, Vivian Almeida de Carvalho, Magda Niemayer Garcia (Bronze Medal), and Rogério Pinheiro (Diploma) — emphasizing that each length of service represents a concrete story of contribution to the institution’s growth and strength.
The prosecutor highlighted the value of collaboration and harmonious coexistence, reminding that the success of the Military Public Prosecutor’s Office is built daily by people committed to a common ideal.
“Today’s honorees are an inspiration to all of us. They represent the constancy, loyalty, and commitment that make MPM a solid and respected institution. It is an honor to share this space with people who believe in what they do and strengthen our mission every day,” he declared.
Ceremony and Closing – The event was conducted by journalist Claudia Cataldi, from TV Alerj, a graduate of the Superior School of War and doctoral candidate at the Naval War College, who emphasized the importance of valuing the work of the teams that make up the MPM. After the awards ceremony, the celebration of Public Servant’s Day continued with a lively performance by the FuzziBossa Band of the Brazilian Marine Corps, which delighted the audience with a light and engaging repertoire. The evening concluded with applause, hugs, and expressions of institutional pride, reaffirming that the excellence of the Military Public Prosecutor’s Office is built by committed, recognized, and inspired people.
