Silvio Santos is coming! The series that tells the story of the Brazilian presenter and communicator premieres on Star+ tomorrow, October 19, with all episodes available. “O Rei da TV” follows the trajectory of a humble, brilliant and ambitious young man who pursued his dream and became the most successful communicator on Brazilian TV, as well as one of the most recognized businessmen in the country.

Silvio Santos

Brilliant, charismatic, obstinate and self-centered, Silvio Santos spares no effort to achieve everything he wants. As a boy, he discovers an impressive talent as a communicator while performing with great success as a street vendor in Rio de Janeiro (RJ). Confident in his communication skills, he decides to pursue a career in the entertainment business. Even becoming the most successful presenter on Brazilian TV, Silvio suffers from not being accepted by the elites who control the media – which drives his ambition even further. Possessive, he does not accept being replaced on the show that bears his name, even when he is diagnosed with an illness that could jeopardize his TV career.
Cidinha

Silvio’s first wife, Cidinha is faithful, loving, spontaneous, and a real support for the presenter. Innocent and dreamy, she ends up being hidden by her husband – who doesn’t publicly admit her – and eventually discovers that he’s not the perfect man she always envisioned. Still, Cidinha has two daughters with him – Cíntia and Silvia, and he stays by her side during the most difficult moments at the beginning of her career. When she discovers she has terminal cancer, she finds surprising strength and sees new meaning in her life.
Iris Abravanel

Íris is Silvio’s second wife and mother of Daniela, Patrícia, Renata and Rebeca. She is insightful, expansive and exuberant. When Silvio needs to leave and go to Miami to take care of his health, Íris takes on some of her duties at SBT and soon identifies with the position of power. Thus, she fights to keep Gugu on the station and, to preserve her husband and SBT, determines that Gugu should replace Silvio in the Sunday program that bears her name. Despite loving her husband, she is not afraid to stand up to him and express her opinions, even if it causes some stress between the couple.
Stanislaus

Stanislau worked at the Internal Revenue Service before being hired by Silvio to join the Silvio Santos Group. Over the years, he became the presenter’s right-hand man, especially in matters relating to business life. Stanislau is intelligent and calculating, even if he doesn’t have Silvio’s genius. The boss’s criticisms and demands caused him to harbor great resentment towards him, making him dangerous and treacherous.
Rossi

Powerful director of Rede Globo, Rossi aims to develop a television channel that has an instructive and intelligent program, based on the model that was successful in the United States in the 1960s. In this way, he despises Silvio Santos and his program, which he considers insignificant and tacky. He ends up becoming a major antagonist in Silvio’s trajectory, who finds in Rossi the personification of the elite that has always rejected him. Throughout the season, Rossi tries to fire or harm Silvio’s career in different ways, finding in the presenter a strategist and implacable rival.
Gugu Liberato

Since childhood, Gugu has dreamed of being like his idol, Silvio Santos, on television. Now hired by SBT and one of the best-known faces in Brazil, Gugu is friendly, fun and hardworking, and considered Silvio’s inevitable successor. This becomes reality when Silvio is diagnosed with a problem with his vocal cords, which takes him away from TV indefinitely. However, the owner of SBT, jealous, prefers to put reruns in the schedule of his program, which hurts Gugu and makes him consider a proposal to join Globo.
Cleusa
