With an interest in fashion that has followed her since she was a little girl, model Nathascha Schiavi graduated in fashion design at Universidade Fumec in Belo Horizonte, and began a thriving career that would accompany her for 10 years, doing fashion shows and advertisements to make her mark. several states in Brazil, and in the hands of great stylists, both in Brazilian projects and in other countries, Greece, Istanbul and Spain.

When she returned to São Paulo, she experienced a problem that would affect her career, a bipolar disorder, which ended up keeping her away from the catwalks as it directly affected her work performance. It was then that she returned to her hometown in an attempt to take care of herself and get well! This event made her undergo therapy for 1 year. However, this was just a small bump on the path that would continue her success.

It was also at that time that Nathascha met her husband and moved to Belo Horizonte, at that time she also moved away from her career and focused on the new moment in life. However, after being out of the market, aged 38, she began to rethink her career and decided that she wanted to come back, even with the thought that she was old, that she was already a mother, something she was not expecting and it was all a shock. However, she managed to understand herself as a woman and as a mother, so she returned to work with fashion and photography, which led her to go to social networks, since then she has been talking about the issue of being women, motherhood, fashion and style. of life. Check out the interview!

Her career in fashion started very early. Could you tell us a little more about how everything started in her life?

My modeling career started in an Elite contest held in São João Del Rei. I was 13 when I met Ming, a well-known scouter from SP, and he really liked my profile and advised my mother to start taking care of my body, as I was in the development phase. However, my father did not let me start my career so young. Years passed and I went to live in Belo Horizonte to study fashion, then I went to an agency myself and started modeling there. I wanted to earn some extra money and so I started!

Then I moved to São Paulo and started a new journey. I went through ups and downs, but it was a really cool phase. I grew up a lot and matured quickly, and I did several jobs in the city of SP.

Did you experience any difficulties at the beginning of your career, did you suffer any trauma?

I went through many difficulties, many tests and many “no”, which messes with the minds of girls who are so unprepared for life. However, there is also the positive aspect of this, we learn that we are not always going to win and that strength comes from diversity. I think all this made me stronger and braver! Yeah, life isn’t easy, we just shouldn’t give up. We can pause to rest, but never give up.

In these comings and goings of your life, what was the moment you decided to enter into entrepreneurship?

I went through some emotional adversities with bipolarity and that made me move away from modeling life, because I needed to take care of myself emotionally. I started with therapy and prepared myself for a new phase. At that stage I met my husband, returned to Minas and decided to set up a brand of handbags (my family is made of handcraftswomen). I wanted to unite fashion and handmade! That’s how Schiavihandmade started. I also have a course company at my husband Ricardo Tanus’s clinic, which is a national reference in TMD. Being an entrepreneur makes me empowered! I believe that we women can do much more than we imagine.

Today you are also a mother. How was the arrival of motherhood in your life and what has being a mother taught you?

Motherhood came by chance and without planning! I really didn’t expect it. I was very focused on work and on my career as a digital influencer, so I had to take a break to dedicate myself to this new universe. Motherhood is not easy and many times we mothers feel alone, even having a support network, because it affects our emotions a lot, sleep deprivation, adaptation to a new being, breastfeeding, routine, obligations and, above all, learning to be parents.

About life in Belo Horizonte, what are the most remarkable places that you would recommend for us to visit?

We have Taste-Vin, it’s a French bistro and it has the best soufflé in the world. Without a doubt, it is the best restaurant in Belo Horizonte. Ninita is a mix of Italian-Minas Gerais, chef Léo Paixão’s restaurant. It has wonderful dishes like the codfish rondeli with fonduta, pears, almonds and caramelized onions. My favorite!
Ajê Bistrô, a place that mixes art and antiques. A place to have a wonderful dining experience. Its specialty is the octopus that I didn’t like so much, I just fell in love and not to mention the wonderful desserts and unique flavors. The host, chef Davi, welcomes us very well. Mina jazz bar – a place for those who want to have a drink and enjoy a pleasant night to the sound of Jazz. A great tip for a Thursday night!

How do you see the purpose of your work on social media these days?

I want to make the social network a job, but mainly a place not only for fashion and travel, but also for encouraging women to step out of their comfort zone. I believe that we women are sometimes erased by the fear of uncertainty, by the lack of courage to start something new again. Just like me, who ventured into this universe after being a mother and being away from fashion for almost 10 years. I want to influence women to find themselves again, to connect with them and discover their true essence, because it’s never too late for us to do what makes our hearts vibrate.
