At just 13 years old, actor Fred Garcia has already built a solid career on stage and screen. His journey in theater started impressively early at the age of 5 and since then, he has starred in 12 stage plays. His passion for acting led him to remarkable professional experiences, such as his debut at the age of 6 in the feature film “Happy Hour – Verdades e Consequences” and participation in highly successful series and soap operas, including “Conselho Tutelar”, “Jesus” and ” Genesis” on Record TV, and “Quanto Mais Vida Melhor” and the Remake of “Pantanal” on Globo, where he faced challenging roles and captivated the public.
Dedicated and studious, Fred never stops looking for new challenges in the art of acting. He is currently giving life to the character Bento in the production “Terra e Paixão”. In addition to his talent on stage and screen, the young actor also enjoys relaxed moments with friends, whether playing football or video games. How did you feel starting your theater career at the age of 5? What motivated you to pursue an acting career at such a young age?
When I entered the theater at age 5, I had no intention of being an actor. Actually, it was the theater that motivated me, because I enjoyed acting so much that I wanted to keep learning and acting.
You have acted in several plays, series and soap operas. What has been the most memorable or challenging experience so far?
He went to play José Leôncio as a child in Remake Pantanal. Since the test was challenging, because the text already had an accent. During the preparation I learned to ride a horse and the responsibility of being in the first chapter, giving life to an already known and much admired character was incredible.
What was it like working on productions like “Conselho Tutelar”, “Jesus” and “Genesis” on Record TV? What lessons did you learn from these projects?
It was really interesting. In Tutelary Council I did some preparation that I’m sure helped a lot in my artistic development. In Jesus, I learned the delicacy of acting, because the boy I played couldn’t walk and after the miracle, he started to walk. Already in Genesis, I learned a lot about the culture of that time.
At Globo, you acted in “Quanto Mais Vida Melhor”, in the Remake of “Pantanal” and made appearances in other series. What is it like moving between different stations and working with different casts?
It is very cool!! I know talented people and competent professionals. I’m watching and learning. I’m sure that each experience adds a lot both as an actor and to my life.
Your character Bento in “Terra e Paixão” is a new experience for you. How would you describe this role and what do you like most about playing it?
Bento is a mischievous and ill-mannered boy. And that’s precisely why I’m really enjoying playing him. It is a great challenge, in addition to bringing the debate about bullying, which I think is very important.
In addition to acting, you mentioned that you enjoy playing soccer and beach tennis. How do you balance your sporting interests with your artistic career?
We’ll organize it as best we can. Sometimes the day of recording coincides with football, so I have to miss football, but the coach is already aware of this and doesn’t fight with me rssss . At Beach Tennis, because there are fewer students in the class, I can adapt the day/time so I don’t miss training. It’s very important to practice physical activity and I love it, so I don’t stop doing it.
What are your plans and goals for the future in acting? Is there a specific type of character or genre you’d like to work with?
Always continue studying and dedicating myself to be ready for the tests. I would love to do a comedy feature.
Who are your biggest inspirations or references in the entertainment industry? Are there actors or actresses that you look up to and look to for inspiration?
Since I met Irandhir Santos in Remake Pantanal, he became a great reference for me. I also admire Adam Sandler a lot.
How do you deal with studying and acting simultaneously? How do you stay focused and dedicated in both fields?
My mother says that I am very responsible. I don’t let tasks pile up. I think that studying and acting complement each other.
Finally, what message would you like to convey to your fans and other young actors who dream of pursuing an artistic career?
I am very happy and I am very grateful to all the affection I receive, it is always a stimulus for me. For the other young actors who dream of pursuing an artistic career, it’s important to study, prepare and not be discouraged by the “no’s” that we get a lot.
