Entirely original, the project seeks to explore the transition from adolescence to adulthood
The contemporary relationship is the theme that guides the song “Pega Pega”, by Bugga, which has just been released on digital platforms. The first track to be part of the EP “Desapego”, which marks the singer and composer’s emergence in the musical universe, it was designed to promote an atmosphere of joy and lightness, bringing intensity to the audience’s most naive emotions. “It was a song that defined a large part of my musical identity. I spent a lot of time searching for what I wanted to do, what attracted me and what I expected from my musical style. ‘Pega Pega’ came to portray the moment I was living in”, says Bugga. In the lyrics, the artist tells the story of a couple who only get involved physically in order to satisfy their desire, leaving aside any type of consideration or deeper feeling. “This type of relationship happens in a more relaxed way, but it does not cause less personal or life experience”, reflects the singer. “In addition, the song also brings criticism regarding what people think about it. For many, the right thing to do is to have a serious relationship, a reciprocated feeling… This idea is deconstructed in the music”, he adds.
Addressing the most diverse subjects that involve the transition from adolescence to adulthood, Bugga continues to seek to involve his audience and opens up the range of interpretations and possibilities in his compositions. In his style, pop, trap br, R&B and reggaeton bring melody to the lyrics. In total, four tracks make up the EP “Desapego”, which will be released in full in 2023.
