Young actress Emilly Puppim, just 11 years old, is already solidifying a promising career in acting. From her audiovisual debut in “Sob Pressão” (TV Globo) as Clara, a moving and intense role, to playing detective Mel in the 18th season of “D.P.A.”, Emilly has demonstrated her versatility. Now, she is preparing to take her character to the stage with “D.P.A. The Piece 2 – A Musical Mystery in Magowood”, marking her foray into theaters. The little actress aspires to continue in the world of acting, inspired by names like Ariana Grande, Bruna Marquezine, Letícia Braga and Gabriella Saraivah, and also envisions venturing into theater directing and teaching this art.

How was the transition from playing Clara in “Under Pressure” to Detective Mel in the 18th season of “D.P.A.”?

It was a great experience because with my character Clara I played a girl who was ill, while with Mel I play a healthy, fun girl. This is important because I’m learning new things for my career.

What was the most challenging part of playing Mel, the detective in the red cape, both in the series and now on stage in “D.P.A. The Play 2?

So far I haven’t found it challenging, because I love playing my character Mel.

Tell us about the preparation for the play “D.P.A. The Play 2 – A Musical Mystery in Magowood”. How do you prepare to bring Mel from the television universe to the theatre?

I had vocal and body preparation and various group dynamics for the play. Before the play begins, we gather all the cast together, say a theatrical prayer and thus become more at ease with our characters.

How would you describe your relationship with the character Mel? Which of her characteristics do you most admire?

She’s unique because we have many things in common. What I admire most about Mel is that she loves her parents, she’s affectionate, outgoing and charismatic.

You mentioned that you always knew you wanted to be an actress. What inspires you most in this profession and what are your future plans in the world of acting?

Knowing that my fans are happy with my performance and being able to interact with them. Doing national and international soap operas and films.

What’s it like dealing with the recognition of fans, especially in the school environment, and maintaining a balance between your professional life, studies and moments of fun?

I’m very happy to be recognised and I treat them with a lot of affection. I always manage to keep a balance because I’m a good student and when I’m acting I also have a lot of fun because I love what I do, I also have my leisure time with my family and friends.

What are your references and inspirations in the artistic world, whether in terms of acting or directing a play?

Gabriella Saraivah, Leticia Braga, Ariana Grande and others. As director Ernesto Piccolo, Gabriel Edel, Fernanda Novaes and my co-star Luísa Thiré.

What’s it like interacting with the cast of “D.P.A.” behind the scenes of the series and now in the play? Any funny stories you’d like to share?

They’re both a lot of fun, everyone in the cast gets on very well. There are several stories, but the most fun was in the dynamics because we laughed at all the antics.

As well as acting, you’re interested in directing plays or perhaps teaching theatre in the future, right? What attracts you most to these areas?

Yes, she was going to be a theatre teacher and continue her acting career.

For viewers who are eager to see “D.P.A. The Play 2”, what would you say they can expect from this theatrical experience with Mel and the whole gang from Detetives do Prédio Azul?

A magical show and lots of mysteries to unravel. We have a musical to sing together, everything is beautiful.
