Lucca DL became an emerging figure on the American scene as a Brazilian rapper singing in English about the life of an immigrant. With “Life of an Immigrant”, the rapper born in São Paulo and based in the United States, went viral on TikTok and Youtube, reaching more than 22 million views, adding the two networks.
But Lucca didn’t stop there and has already proven that career advancement is not by chance. He also achieved great success with “Top of the Morning”, recently released ‘O Jogo’, a single that won an animated clip and has now been chosen by rapper Connor Price as a partner for a new song. “I follow Connor because he is a reference for me. He raps and also creates incredible content based on videos,” says Lucca.
After Connor announced on his social networks that he was looking for a rapper to support in a new composition, Lucca recorded a video listing three reasons for being chosen and his faithful audience created a gigantic mobilization that became efficient. There were more than 350,000 likes and 1.7 million views on the Tik Tok publication, a demonstration of the rapper’s power of influence on social networks. “I listed there the reasons for me to be the partner of the new song and the guys engaged me a lot. I saw that he put the little eyes (emoji) in the video and two weeks later came the invitation to record the song”, he says excitedly.
Lucca received the beat from Connor and created the verses over it. With the competence of both to add multicultural influences to rap, the track “False Alarm” is born with the potential of a great viral hit and a seed for partnerships as famous as this one in DL’s career. “I debated in my head what the theme would be. I felt pressure to say relevant things and I wanted to make it clear that I am from Brazil. I mixed more naughty things from traditional rap with a message about my country”, concludes Lucca, who is now officially partnered with a rapper with fame on a global scale.
