With four years of career and hits like “Me Chama”, “Oi Sumido” and “Um Dia Inteiro” in his luggage, Lucas Pretti from Minas Gerais has been gaining popularity and increasingly standing out in the pop scene. Appointed as one of the greatest musical revelations in recent years by specialized vehicles, the artist is currently dedicating himself to promoting his latest EP.

Entitled “Chora Por Mim”, the EP features authorial and very personal songs, as they portray the young artist’s disappointment in love – who today says he has already overcome this romance. To tell a little more about this project and also about future plans, Lucas opened his heart in an exclusive interview. Check out the interview!

The singles from the EP “Chora Por Mim” won super-produced video clips. Is the aesthetic issue always something you prioritize in launches?

Very! I think that every job has to have the same attention and the same care. So I spend a lot of hours and I’m very careful with the production of the music. When it comes to the visual part, I try to have the same care and attention to detail. I believe that when everything comes together and all parts are good, the result is very special. So, I always prioritize aesthetics a lot.

The video for your most recent single, “Tao Bem”, has a whole story before it starts and shows you as if you were a vampire. Where did the idea for this clip come from?

The idea came from my director, I had a completely different idea. At first, I thought the video for “Tao Bem” would be more beachy, like a good life, you know? Maybe on the beach… But he came up with another idea, saying, ‘you’re a vampire and you get your heart in a box’. We thought about it, because my heart wasn’t with me anymore, so the only explanation is that I was a vampire. And it turned out super cool!

You have now finished the Sky Sessions project. But, we want to know, do you think about doing another season?

I think so. I always say ‘I’m done’ and I want to do more. For example, I had done ‘Sun Sessions’ and when it ended I said: ‘Oh, that’s it, I’m not going to do more’, but some time passed and I decided that I wanted to do more. I’m a big fan of the project and I love being able to collaborate with other artists and do something looser, you know? Without being an EP, ‘Sky Sessions’ gives me a lot of freedom.

What can we expect from Lucas in 2023?

A lot of work! I don’t just want to focus on music, I also want to invest in social media and be more and more present. We’re still planning for this year, so I can’t spoil much of what’s to come (laughs), but stay tuned!

Lucas releases this Friday (03) the official remix of the track “Tao Bem”. Produced by Bruno Scheffel (better known for his artistic project Low Disco), it arrives on all digital platforms from midnight onwards. The pre-save can now be done through the link ditto.fm/tao-bem-remix.
