Fun7 is preparing to surprise the public with its long-awaited first DVD of its career. Recorded at Audio in São Paulo, the project promises an electrifying production, full of special guest appearances that raise the energy of the show even further. In an exclusive interview, band members Denis Pinhoti, Niko Torres, Bruninho Amaral and Cal Makdisse shared details about the collaborations and their expectations for the release.
During the show, FUN7 prepared a special setlist, featuring re-recordings of established hits and unpublished singles in partnership with renowned artists, such as HITMAKER, Bruninho e Davi, Lauana Prado and the group Sambô, among others. According to the artists, all participations were the result of musical connections, friendships and mutual admiration, making the DVD a true reflection of the band’s versatility and its integration with other talents in the music scene. The result is a series of powerful performances and unique moments captured on video.
The previous work for the recording of the DVD required many important decisions, from the selection of the repertoire to the definition of the special participations. Fun7 invested time and effort to ensure that every detail was in line with their artistic vision and the expectations of their fans. Now, with everything ready, the band admits that anxiety and expectations are high. “We’re still dreaming. It was a lot of previous work, with many decisions to be taken, choice of repertoire, but we have a lot of expectations and we hope it succeeds”, declare the members of Fun7. The DVD promises to be a milestone in the band’s career and promises to win the hearts of the public with its contagious energy and weighty collaborations.
How did the idea of recording Fun7’s first DVD come about?
This dream is an old one of ours, and has been studied for a year. We have very good new songs in our repertoire, we are consistent as a band, so we feel confident to take this very important step in the career of a band.
What were the criteria used to choose the special guest appearances on the DVD?
We wanted to have great artists and great friends with us to share this very special moment in our career. The participations came naturally, looking for artists that we admired and that were present in our trajectory in some way.
How was the collaboration process with the guest artists? Were there any surprises or challenges during filming?
One of the biggest challenges is always the song selection process. In addition to all the study of the repertoire, we wanted it to be something that made sense to everyone who was part of this special day. We had very good surprises, we studied the songs of each participation and received advice from the artists. It was a super positive exchange.
What are the band’s expectations regarding the DVD release? What do you hope to achieve with this project?
We want to be ever closer to our audience and our future audience. The DVD comes to give us energy to continue spreading joy around, farther and farther.
How was the experience of recording live at Audio in São Paulo? Were there any standout moments during the recording?
Audio has played host to many of our idols. Playing there was a dream come true, one that you have to pinch yourself to believe is really happening! One of the most memorable moments for us was when we dedicated songs to our families who were there. Remarkable and very exciting for us.
The DVD’s repertoire includes re-recordings of established hits and unreleased singles. How was the song selection? What did you seek to convey through this choice?
We always seek to talk to our audience. We know that everyone wanted to hear new songs and the versions we do from other artists so we decided to put together a repertoire with both things to receive the maximum energy.
You mentioned that Fun7 is versatile and has connections with other artists in the music scene. How is this versatility reflected on the DVD and on the collaborations?
We love making music and versatility has always been ingrained with the desire to deliver an incredible show. I believe that versatility reflects the openness we have in having artists from many different genres.
What is the message or feeling you hope to convey to the audience through the songs and performances on the DVD?
Happiness. FUN7 is happy and high-spirited in everything it does, so on the DVD, the desire to convey this only strengthened even more
How did the pandemic affect the planning and production of the DVD? What were the challenges faced and how did you overcome these difficulties?
The pandemic has affected many people in our midst. I think the biggest challenge for all independent bands is the financial part, but in our case we’ve always been very organized with that and we understand that it’s necessary to reinvest part of our earnings to keep the boat going.
Besides the DVD release, what are the band’s next plans? Can we expect new singles, concerts or other projects in the future?
We feel that we are getting closer and closer to our big dream, which is to spread our music all over Brazil and, who knows, the world. You can expect new singles and a tour that is already in the final assembly process. We are very anxious.
