Demonstrating a renewed commitment to his audience, the artist not only improved his performances, but delved deeply into studying his market, joining forces with a new team and manager.

Tell us about your transition from MC Ka to MC Green in early 2023. What were the main reasons behind this change?
I felt a huge need to expand and go further in my career, but at the beginning I didn’t have the financial aspect, which counts a lot. And, due to lack of investment, he played as best he could, but was still not satisfied with the results he achieved alone. I believe that having thinking heads helps us a lot.
How would you describe the specific niche you are exploring in the funk world with your new compositions? What are the distinctive elements you seek to incorporate?
There is a big difference, and as I mentioned before, I believed that funk would only work if it were in a single format. My compositions as MC Ka were in the ostentatious funk style. But there are a thousand and one segments within a gigantic world that is funk.
In studying your audience, how has that influenced the style and message of your songs? Is there a specific age range or is it broader?
Every study serves to bring improvements and better results, and this metric, together with the team, brought us a vision of old funks, which were enjoyed, danced, and everyone could dance without restriction, from children to elderly people.
How was the process of improving your skills and better understanding the market with the new team and entrepreneur? Were there any significant insights you would like to share?
The initial step, I believe, starts with myself when I am open to changes and new things.
When creating music that can be enjoyed by all ages, how do you find the balance between maintaining authenticity and catering to such a diverse audience?
It’s a combination, the style never fails to say that the funk world is part of me and tells the story of “MC Ka”. And the rest is MC Green who completes it.
Can you share any special or unforgettable moments that occurred in one of your performances after the transition to MC Green?
I gave presentations in familiar places and saw children impressed by the color of their hair and their style. This made me see that I was on the right path.
What are your main musical influences at the moment? Did they change during this transition phase?
I have many inspirations and I respect the careers of everyone who fights, but I do have some special ones within the funk world. I believe that, if I were to quote, it would occupy a good part here.
What is your creative process like when composing new songs? Has anything changed in this aspect with the new artistic identity?
Yes, a lot has changed. A schedule full of commitments, and I didn’t even imagine all of this. It’s a rush, but it’s a general decision, from DJ, manager and everyone involved, to decide how we’re going to reach the final goal.
What are your plans and goals for the future as MC Green? Any specific projects or dream collaborations?
My plans belong to God, He is the one who determines the path. Without his blessing, nothing is worth it, so I believe that we will continue to follow paths that are determined by force majeure.
