There are thousands of us… In Rio there are many of us. In the terreiros we are ONE. We are Umbanda. Afro-Brazilian religious tradition of worshiping our origins and those who sowed the roots that support our faith today.
Religion of humble people, of people who only seek good and speak in the name of peace, love and charity. A religion present in every corner of Brazil, but which became notable through the Macumbas Cariocas, the Tambores da Pequena África, the Culinária das Quituteiras, the ginga of capoeiras and the many stories of our old black people.
The Umbanda Rio Meeting, an event held by the Umbanda Rio movement, which takes place annually in the north of the Marvelous City, this year brings together its supporters and supporters at the Air Force Noncommissioned Officers and Sergeants Club on November 15th from 11am.
The culture, music, dance and joy of the people of axé are present in the literature of Umbanda and Spiritist authors who take advantage of the event to launch their works. In Gastronomy, the terreiros bring their delights to a feast of flavors at Quintal do Ajeum.
Umbanda youth also have their freedom, transforming the virtual space of social networks into a large real meeting between axé followers and digital influencers. Being from Axé means having the sway of the dancer, the elegance of the master of the room, without losing the rhythm set by the beats of our hearts, as if on a grand avenue to the sound of a powerful drum. Samba and Axé have always been a perfect mix and Umbanda Rio has already proven this in 2022.
In the 10 years of Umbanda Rio, the Samba plot and the magic of Carnival are back with a legendary character from Marquês de Sapucaí. He’s from Samba, he’s from the saint and his voice is unmistakable! Ito Melodia, directly from Unidos da Tijuca will be shaking up the Umbanda Rio meeting with anthological sambas that told the stories of Afro religions on the avenue! Damn! It will incorporate! And we too!
Joining him to brighten and cheer up our event, we will have as godfather and also full of Axé the singer Arlindinho, with his happiness and musicality, revering our Faith. And it doesn’t stop there! The musical attractions that will share the stage with Ito and Arlindinho are: Vozes dos Terreiros, Macumbloco and Guests Grupo Saravô and Juliana D Passos. Tickets and tables will be on sale and the event will run until 8pm.
