With the recent release of the film “Morando Com Meu Crush”, where she plays the mystical Mirella, actress Alice Baltezam shares her experience and reveals the behind-the-scenes of this new project. Alice, who began her artistic career as a child working in advertising, highlights how these early experiences shaped her discipline and behavior on the film set.
Baltezam also talks about the challenges of playing the character Delilah in the film “Em Nome do Pai”, based on real events, which required him to bring to light the depth and suffering of a heavy story. Currently, the actress is taking an Interpretation for TV and Cinema workshop with Director Diogo Ferraz, an experience that she considers enriching for her professional development.
Balancing an intense routine that includes courses in acting, dance, vocal technique, improvisation, scriptwriting and English, Alice still finds time for challenging tests, such as a recent test in English for an undisclosed role. The actress reflects on the importance of support from her family and followers, who have been fundamental pillars in her journey.
Baltezam, who previously worked as a child presenter, remembers this phase fondly and recognizes the contribution of this experience to her career as an actress. Working with renowned directors such as Hsu Chien and Diego Müller was also an important milestone, offering him valuable lessons and influences in the construction of his characters.
For the future, Alice Baltezam has ambitious plans: she wants to explore dubbing, musical theater and face new challenges in TV and cinema, including the desire to play a villain, a role she considers full of depth and complexity.
“Morando Com Meu Crush” was recently released. What was the experience of playing Mirella in this film like?
Yes, “Morando com o Crush” opens now, on May 23rd, in cinemas across Brazil. And I played Mirella and she was a huge gift for me, I was very happy with the character I received, because the character, she is all mystical, she believes in crystals, in signs, she is all connected in energies, and her laboratory was also a lot of fun to do, because I had to learn to play two different instruments to be able to do it in the scenes, so Mirella, for me, is an incredible character, although she has some things similar to me , others not, I loved playing her, she was really a gift to me, and that’s, I think, a little bit of Mirella, like that.
You have extensive experience in advertising work. How did these works influence your career as a film and TV actress?
So, advertising and publicity work I have been doing since I was 5 years old, very little, and I believe that these works, they helped me a lot to have an idea, a basis of how to behave with large teams, the fact of knowing how to wait, of knowing how to listen, so I think this helped me a lot later on, to be able to be on a film set, which is the same thing, we have to wait to record a scene, we have to listen to what the director wants, so I think the work helped me a lot in terms of knowing how to work in these places.
What was the biggest challenge in playing Delilah in “Em Nome do Pai”, especially knowing that the film was nominated for several film festivals?
“Em Nome do Pai”, which is the film in which I played Delilah, has a very heavy story, it is a film based on real events and I believe that the biggest challenge of having played Delilah would be to bring this truth into play. and show the weight and suffering of living with everything at that time and facing her father and seeing what her father did to her mother. I think the story was very heavy and the challenge was to bring all this weight and suffering to the scenes themselves.
You are taking an Interpreting for TV and Cinema workshop with Director Diogo Ferraz. What has this experience been like and what do you hope to achieve with these new learnings?
When it comes to courses, workshops, we joke that we never stop studying because we always have something new to learn and we love doing workshops with directors, casting directors, because everyone has a different way of working. So we like to get to know everyone so we can understand how each director works. So I’ve already done it with Felipe Ventura, Marinho, Luciano Baldan, a lot of people, I won’t remember everyone’s name. But it’s great that we study with lots of different people.
Her routine is quite intense, with courses in acting, dance, vocal technique, improvisation, scriptwriting and English. How do you balance all of this with your career and personal life?
We try to separate one day a week for each activity, so one day for the acting course, another day for dancing, another day for English, and also trying to leave some days free so we can go out with our family, so we can produce content, so I can study. It’s a lot, but in the end everything is fine.
You recently auditioned in English for an undisclosed role. What was that experience like and how did you prepare for it?
It was really cool to take this test in English. When I received the test, I was very happy. And even though I have experience with English, I sent it to the teacher and said, I need help because this test has to be beautiful, perfect. So, we studied every word, every sentence to make it beautiful and it wasn’t a monologue, it was a dialogue. So, the teacher recorded it with me. He also played the other character, he helped me. And, unfortunately, everything is confidential, so we can’t say where the test went, which character the test was for, as much as I would really like to talk.
In addition to acting, you have worked as a child presenter. What was that experience like and how did it contribute to your career as an actress?
It was a very good experience for me, also very fun. I presented an SBT program, which was local, in Rio Verde do Sul, which was Masbá. And I presented on time a few times. And it was a lot of fun, because I’ve recorded in the circus, I’ve recorded in a hamburger restaurant, in a limousine. They were very fun, very crazy subjects. And any experience on TV, I think was very important for me.
You mentioned that you have received a lot of support from your family and social media followers. How has this support impacted your artistic journey?
I think that all the support and support that my family gives me is the most important thing I have in terms of my career. My mother, for having left everything in the south and agreeing to move to São Paulo with me. My father being separated from us, living in the south alone and struggling through all of this alone. And my family has always been very supportive of the idea of my dream and supported me a lot. And so do my followers. They are cute, they have always supported me a lot and were happy with my achievements, as if they were part of my family. And I am extremely grateful for my family and my followers, because this support is very important to me.
Participating in productions directed by names like Hsu Chien and Diego Müller must have been enriching. What did you learn from these directors and how did it influence your acting?
Recording with big names in our Brazilian cinema was very important, especially for me, who is at the beginning of my career, it was wonderful, it’s wonderful to have recorded with them. And they helped me a lot, both Diego as Dalila and Shu as Mirella, because they always encouraged me to seek more and to deliver more on the characters and to show a greater side of my character and show where she could go, so they were extremely important for me in building the characters.
What are your future plans in your acting career? Is there a specific project you would like to share with your fans?
Future projects: I really wanted to take a dubbing course so I could have this experience. I also wanted to have experience in musical theater and be able to study a little more about it, as I find it very interesting. Regarding TV and cinema, I want a lot of challenges. I would really like to play a villain, because villains have incredible weight; they are wonderful. All the challenges, everything craziest and most different, I want to interpret.
