Jax, your career spans a variety of areas in entertainment, such as acting, fashion design, and directing. How have you managed to balance these different passions over the years?

Balancing my roles in acting, fashion design, and directing has been an exhilarating challenge that requires a lot of discipline and passion. I approach each field with the same level of commitment and creativity, which helps maintain a seamless transition between them.I keep a very organized schedule to ensure I can dedicate enough time to each passion without compromising the quality of my work in any area. It’s also about surrounding myself with a talented team who supports my vision and helps execute the projects effectively. This collaboration allows me to stay deeply involved in every aspect, whether I’m on set, in the design studio, or behind the camera. Ultimately, each of these creative outlets enhances the other. The storytelling skills I’ve honed in directing and acting enrich the narratives behind my fashion collections, and the aesthetic sensibilities from fashion design bring a unique visual style to my film projects. It’s about leveraging the skills from each area to enrich the others, creating a symbiotic relationship between all my artistic endeavors.

Your newest project from your production company KAP Productions that has produced award winning visual content like Conservation Invasion on Youtube and Jingle Trails on Amazon Prime is called “This is My Story”  is an audio fiction series. Can you share more about that project?

“This is My Story” is an exciting new venture from KAP Productions, developed in collaboration with Jake Purfield and Evolving Eye Productions. This audio fiction series draws inspiration from the adventurous spirit of classics like ‘The Goonies,’ reimagined within a Western setting tailored for a young adult audience. We’ve collaborated with a cast of talented voice actors, and musician Bodhi Corbett to create a rich auditory experience that paints vivid pictures through sound alone. The goal is to allow listeners to immerse themselves completely in the narrative, experiencing the emotions and settings as if they were part of the story themselves.

Producing an audio series has been an exciting challenge. It’s a shift from the visual storytelling we’re known for, like with “Conservation Invasion” and “Jingle Trails,” but it’s been incredibly rewarding to explore storytelling in its purest form. “This is My Story” pushes the boundaries of how we connect with stories and I’m thrilled about the potential it has to touch our audience in a new way.

Besides acting and directing you have a strong career in fashion that started on the runway but now has translated into fashion design with models walking the runway for your brand Trident by Jax Malcolm. Can you share more about how you became a fashion designer?

I grew up in the entertainment industry, attending red carpet events starting  at the age of five. This early exposure to the world of fashion sparked my interest in creating my own clothing line. I wanted to design clothes that carry the glamour of Hollywood yet are versatile enough for everyday wear.

What is the concept of Trident by Jax Malcolm to the audience? What is the inspiration behind your newest collection?

The concept of Trident by Jax Malcolm is to merge the glamour of Hollywood with versatile and practicality. I create clothes that are stylish enough for red carpet events yet suitable for a date or a casual evening with friends. The brand is about making fashion both accessible and adaptable, ensuring you look polished in any setting. This approach reflects my own experiences in the entertainment industry, where I learned the importance of maintaining an appearance that fits both high-profile events and everyday life. This capsule resort wear collection is special because it channels the easy going lifestyle to be had seaside. It includes both natural and vibrant colors that capture the essence of life below and above the water. Each look in this collection includes a custom-designed corset making each piece a statement of both style and individuality.

You’ve appeared on popular comedy series like “The Birthday Boys” and “Comedy Bang! Bang!”. What do you enjoy most about comedy, and how does it differ from other genres you’ve worked in?

What I enjoy most about comedy is the immediate feedback you get, whether it’s from the crew on set or eventually from the audience. There’s a palpable energy and spontaneity in comedy that’s unlike any other genre. It’s exhilarating to play with timing and reaction, and there’s a sense of camaraderie and playfulness that you don’t always find in more serious roles.

Comedy also requires a specific kind of precision. It’s not just about delivering lines; it’s about understanding the rhythm and flow of a scene. Every pause, every expression, and even the way you breathe can set up a joke or enhance a punchline. This attention to detail makes it uniquely challenging.

Compared to other genres I’ve worked in, such as drama or thriller, comedy demands a constant presence of mind and a willingness to be flexible and react in the moment. In drama, you often delve deep into character development and emotional arcs, which is its own kind of challenge, but comedy has this immediate, almost musical quality to it that’s both challenging and incredibly rewarding.

Your appearance on the talk show “On Air With Ka$h” allowed you to share your experiences with the audience. What was it like to be interviewed on the show, and what impact did it have on your career?

Appearing on “On Air With Ka$h” was a fantastic experience. Kash Hovey is not only a great friend but also a significant collaborator in my career. He’s had roles in several KAP Productions shows, including “The Listening” and “This is My Story,” and has continually supported my projects, even including them in his film block, Kash Hovey and Friends, at the LA Live Film Festival. His support has had a positive impact on my career, helping to elevate my work within the industry.

Being interviewed on his show allowed me to share deeper insights into my creative process and the stories behind our projects. It was a comfortable and engaging environment, partly because of our friendship and mutual respect. The show provided a platform to reach a broader audience, which has been instrumental in introducing our work to viewers who might not have discovered it otherwise. Overall, the experience not only strengthened my personal brand but also enhanced the visibility of our projects, contributing positively to our ongoing endeavors.

As a multifaceted artist, where do you find inspiration for your projects? Are there specific artists or experiences that inspire your creativity?

As a multifaceted artist, I draw inspiration from a wide array of sources.
