The festival takes place from September 24 to 29 in Joinville
Established as one of the most important piano festivals in Latin America, the Pianistic Festival reaches its seventh edition, bringing top-tier artists to enchant the audience in Joinville.
This musical gathering, created in 2018, has added a new dimension to the cultural calendar of Santa Catarina’s largest city, internationally recognized for its Dance Festival.
For six days, from September 24 to 29, piano chords will take the stage in theaters and other public spaces, with a wide range of programming.
Access is once again free—tickets will be available soon through reservation.
As a social initiative, the festival will offer an exclusive performance for students of the municipal public school system, in an event titled “Pianistic in Schools.”
“We will have the acclaimed mix of Brazilian and international artists and the fusion of various genres and styles, which have already become a hallmark of our festival,” says artistic director Carlos Branco, president of the central organizing committee.
From the announced lineup of pianists, Branco highlights the presence of two names from the international classical music scene, who perform on tours and at festivals around the world: the four-hands duo of Spaniards Carles and Sofia and the renowned British pianist Peter Donohue.
Another highlight is Cuban Marialy Pacheco, a world jazz star.
“From abroad, we will also have the tango of Pablo Fraguela and the incredible sensitivity of Fernanda Morello, both Argentinians, and Paraguayan pianist Oscar Aldama.
From Brazil, we will feature some of the best pianists of the moment, ranging from classical to jazz and MPB, such as Anette Camargo, Clélia Iruzun, Deangelo Silva, Heloísa Fernandes, Luiz Gustavo Zago, Marcelo Galter, Yves Tanuri, and Zé Manoel.”
Albertina Tuma, the general coordinator, emphasizes that the slogan of this edition, “Pianos that enchant,” reflects not only the artistic excellence of the festival but also its commitment to inspiring and moving the audience.
“Piano art lovers can once again look forward to a series of impeccable and unforgettable concerts, featuring great Brazilian and international stars,” the producer previews.
“None of this would be possible without the support of Santa Catarina companies and the active engagement of the community, which have been key partners since the beginning.
” This year, the organization is reactivating the Pianistic Council, an advisory body aimed at further strengthening the cultural impact of the event.
In line with the project’s educational approach, seven workshops will be held, where some of the festival’s guest pianists will share their knowledge with local musicians and teachers.
The program will include topics such as piano in tango, MPB, and jazz, and the creative process in the musical languages of Latin American genres.
Betting on the musical education of new generations, the Pianistic Festival will take the children’s show “Solano, the Piano,” featuring pianist Naara Santana and actor Luan Cordeiro, to Sebastião Scarzello School in the Itaum neighborhood and Arinor Vogelsanger School in Vila Nova. The performances will be held on September 20 and 23.
