At 11 years old, Duda Galvão , who began her career as an actress at 9, is already emerging as a young star on the rise. After standing out as Rosária in “As Aventuras de José e Durval” on Globoplay , Duda won her first international role in the film “Meu Amigo Pinguim”, directed by the award-winning David Schurmann. Playing alongside names like Jean Reno and Adriana Barraza , the young actress faced the challenge of acting in English and with a cast of different nationalities. The film, which marks the beginning of his international career, arrives in Brazil in September.
You started your career at the age of 9 and, at 11, you are already shining in big productions. What has this intense and early journey into acting been like?
It’s been very difficult, but this is difficult to get to where I want to go.
In “Meu Amigo Pinguim”, you starred alongside international stars and even a real penguin! What was this experience like working with so many different nationalities and such a special scene partner?
Even now I can’t believe it, but working with these cinema phenomena was incredible because they taught me a lot. It was incredible to work with a real penguin, I never imagined I would meet a PENGUIN.
Learning English for the film was a big challenge. What was the learning process like and how did you deal with acting in a language you just learned?
For me it wasn’t that difficult to learn and act with the language, because I was very young so it wasn’t very difficult or easy.
You mentioned that the film helped you overcome your fear of the sea. What was this experience of overcoming a personal fear through acting like?
Look, since I was a baby I was always very afraid of the ocean, but I discovered that the ocean is too beautiful to be afraid of.
In “Por Um Fio”, you play a girl with cancer, a very intense and emotional story. What was it like for you to prepare for such a challenging role?
It was very difficult, because I had no idea how to play a girl with cancer, but I prepared myself and prepared the psychology and immersed myself in the character.
You will also be in the next season of “Mal Me Quer”. What can you tell us about your role and what it’s been like participating in this series?
I can’t say much, but I can say that this season I play the character Bruna. Bruna is a very intelligent girl, very mature for her age, and ends up getting stressed because of the childishness of her parents and siblings. It’s been really cool to participate in this wonderful series, because I love comedy.
Despite your passion for acting, you also dream of studying veterinary science and working with marine animals. How do you imagine reconciling these two passions in the future?
If I weren’t an actress, this would be my plan B. I’ve always been passionate about animals, especially marine ones.
You mentioned that you want to star in a horror film, which is your favorite genre. What attracts you so much to this genre and what would your dream role in a horror film be like?
What attracts me most to horror films are the screams, the scares and the drama, that’s why I love horror so much, my horror role would be, like a girl who tries to fight demons, you know, the protagonist of the film.
