Arthur Sousa , known for his commentary on Big Brother Brasil, began his career unexpectedly with an amateur video that went viral on social media. Today, he has accumulated millions of followers with his authentic and charismatic style, and, in addition to commenting on reality shows such as “A Fazenda” and “BBB”, he plans to explore new content and projects in his multifaceted career as an influencer and model. In an interview, he shares his experiences, the challenges of exposure on social media and his plans for the future.

How did you start creating content about Big Brother Brasil, and what motivated you to become a commentator on the reality show?

At the time, I had an Instagram called ‘BBB Depressão’, because I wasn’t ashamed of recording videos on my personal profile. It was also a thing of recording abroad, in another city; I had moved to the capital to study, and ‘BBB Depressão’ was something I did for fun. One day, one of these videos was discovered by the reality show team, and they reposted it on all social networks. From then on, overnight, I gained more than 100 thousand followers.

In some videos, I said whatever I wanted, and there was one episode where I made a montage with a line from Clara’s speech from the soap opera. It didn’t go down well because a lot of people didn’t understand the joke, but it also went viral. Tiago F., who was posting a lot about the show at the time, also shared it. And that’s how I started creating content in a more serious way, leaving behind a small page that suddenly gained notoriety.

Your authentic and charismatic personality has won you a large following. How do you maintain that authenticity on social media while interacting with such a large audience?

I’m from the Northeast, and I think this culture of speaking loudly and being communicative comes from there. I love communicating, recording videos, making people laugh, making them feel happy. This has become a way for me to express myself on Instagram, sharing cool things. I’ve always been the ‘clown of the group’, and this characteristic has transferred to social media.

What inspires you when creating the catchphrases and expressions that have become your trademark? Do you have any new catchphrases in mind that you plan to release?

The creation of my catchphrases came very naturally. I was recording a video in Brasília, and suddenly I started saying a phrase that became a catchphrase. The public likes these things. One of the most recent ones was ‘Meu, a menina!’. It was just a joke pretending I was sleeping, and people loved it. It was spontaneous and ended up growing a lot on Instagram.

What was the experience of celebrating your 24th birthday in New York like, and how did this trip impact your outlook on life and career?

New York was a wonderful experience. I lived in the United States for almost seven months, and it was a unique opportunity. I even spent my birthday there. It was a long-time dream of mine to visit the city, and it was very impactful. It is a country that makes us open our eyes to what we want to be, to chase our dreams.

My experience in the US had a huge positive impact on my career. Even the interactions I had during the live streams influenced my work. I feel more motivated and aware that I can achieve even more.

How do you handle the responsibility of influencing so many people, especially in a space like Instagram where your opinions are followed by millions?

I’ve always been a person with no filter, so I end up saying what I think. But over time, I’ve learned to be more careful about what I post. Sometimes, I realize that something I posted might not be cool, and I delete it. Today, I better understand the responsibility we have on social media, especially with the impact we can have on people’s lives.

In addition to commenting on Big Brother Brasil, what other topics do you like to address on your social media? Is there any specific topic you would like to explore more?

In the beginning, my social media was very focused on ‘BBB’, but today I talk about several reality shows. I produce content daily about what is happening in Brazil and the world. I like to make fun and joke, but I always try to convey the information in a fun way.

I always try to share my experiences with my followers. I think I’m in a transition phase, wanting to bring new content, such as scripts and deeper themes. The audience is used to the funnier side, but I also want to address topics that can positively influence people’s lives.

As a model and influencer, how do you balance these different facets of your career with your work as a commentator?

I manage to balance my work on Instagram with reality shows. When ‘Big Brother’ and ‘A Fazenda’ end, I usually focus on other types of content. For example, I’m now doing more gossip and travel content.

What are your plans for the future? Can we expect new projects or collaborations soon?

I have many plans and dreams that I am pursuing right now. I am building my name and working with a team of five people who help me achieve my goals. No one can do it alone, but with this team, I believe I will achieve many things by next year.
