Scheila Santos Duarte , CEO of Moscova and founder of communications agency Ask , shares her vision of entrepreneurship as a path to physical and mental well-being. In addition, Scheila reveals the need for self-care and clear boundaries to maintain mental health in a multifaceted scenario and shares insights from the PowerTalk event in São Paulo, where promoting well-being was a central focus. With a full schedule of events scheduled for 2024, the entrepreneur is excited about the opportunities to educate and connect people seeking transformation in entrepreneurship.
How do you define the role of entrepreneurship in promoting physical and mental well-being?
Entrepreneurship is a powerful tool for well-being because it allows people to align their work with their purpose and values. When we work on something we love, it brings personal satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment. However, it is essential to balance this journey with self-care to avoid overwhelm and maintain a healthy mind.
What were the main challenges you faced when starting your career as an entrepreneur?
In the beginning, the biggest challenges were dealing with uncertainty and balancing multiple demands simultaneously, such as managing the business and attracting partners. In addition, learning to delegate was essential, as wanting to do everything alone is a common mistake. Trusting the team and accepting that not everything is under control were important steps towards growth.
How does your experience as a lawyer influence your approach to business and managing your brand?
My background in law and experience in communications have made me analytical, strategic and data-driven, qualities that are essential for planning POWERCast . These areas have given me negotiation skills and a proactive approach, which are essential for establishing solid partnerships and protecting the brand. The combination of legal and communications vision facilitates the construction of strategic connections and ensures sound decisions for the sustainable growth of the project.
What do you consider essential to maintaining mental health while managing such a multifaceted career?
Setting clear boundaries is essential. Learning to say “no” and understanding that rest is part of the process are important lessons. Practices such as meditation, physical exercise and setting aside time for family and friends are also essential to balancing body and mind.
Can you share any memorable experiences from the event that impacted your outlook on health and well-being?
Yesterday, we held PowerTalk in São Paulo, and one of the things that struck me the most was the positive impact of opening all of our talks with a moment dedicated to well-being. We do this because we deeply believe in the importance of self-care to sustain a successful trajectory. When we give participants space to slow down and reconnect with themselves, it not only improves individual performance, but also creates a more collaborative and inspiring atmosphere throughout the event.
How do you balance your responsibilities as CEO of Moscova and founder of Ask with your personal life?
Balance comes with organization and prioritization. It’s not always easy, but creating clear routines and dedicating exclusive time to your personal life makes all the difference. Having a competent team that is aligned with the company’s values also makes it easier to divide responsibilities.
What advice would you give to those who want to follow a similar path to yours in entrepreneurship?
Believe in your vision and be prepared for the ups and downs of the journey. Resilience is essential, as is surrounding yourself with people who share your values. Never stop learning and don’t be afraid to make mistakes — every mistake is an opportunity for growth.
What are your expectations for the future of your career and for upcoming PowerCast events ?
We have a fully planned agenda for next year, full of content about entrepreneurship. I am very excited about the opportunities we have to increasingly communicate, connect people and accelerate networking and education. We believe that these pillars are essential to transform businesses and foster a high-impact ecosystem.
