Actor Alix Van Aernam, known for his performance in Sand Castle, is one of the stars of Egypte 4: Double Agenda, a short-form series created by Tanner Beard. Shot entirely on an iPhone 15, the series promises to captivate audiences with its surprises and moments of pure fun.
Working with a cast of close friends and filming in 10 different countries, what was it like to coordinate the logistics and creativity of such a diverse project?
Yes, thank you Rachel and Abby for putting up with us haha – we all had a great time in Canada and it was even more fun when they got involved.
Egypte 4: Double Agenda was filmed entirely with an iPhone 15. What impact do you think this choice had on how the series was produced and perceived by the audience?
Crazy thing about this series is yes it was taken into adobe premiere to have the finalization done, like over sound and some VFX and color but most of this Tanner would edit in the same day on an app called Splice. I think the audience should know that too because shooting on the fly, we’d watch something edited that same day then even film something that night knowing what the edited scene looked like.
Filming in 10 countries and working with a group of close friends must have created memorable moments. What was the most fun or striking experience during the shoot?
Oh man had to be when I almost fell off the balcony at the hotel in Cairo. Things got pretty real there for sec but i fell on to a safety rail and Russ and Tanner both were holding on to me, I laughed and said, “see how committed I am to this performance”. And then was happy to not have fallen.
