At just 8 years old, actress, singer, and voice actress Clara Portella is emerging as one of the greatest promises of the new generation of child talent. She is part of the cast of the Record TV series “The Lord and the Servant,” playing Vita, the youngest daughter of the protagonist played by Dudu Pelizzari. The production, now available on Univer Vídeo, premieres on television on October 13th. Beyond television, Clara has achieved success in musical theater, notably in The Sound of Music (2024), and in voice acting, where her voice has been featured in productions such as The Conjuring 4, K-Pop Warriors (Netflix), and Super Cute: Adventure in the City (Apple TV). With versatility and charisma, Clara is consolidating a promising career and reinforcing her reputation as a talent to watch closely in the coming years.

Clara, you started acting and voice acting at a very young age! Do you remember the first time you stepped onto a recording set or into a voiceover studio? What captivated you most about that moment?

I remember! The first time I entered a dubbing studio was in 2022, when I went to accompany my mom to do a dubbing—she’s also a dubbing artist. Then my uncle needed a child to play Zoe in the movie Dear Zoe, and I ended up doing it. She was a little shorter than me. I didn’t really understand it at the time, but then, last year, when I auditioned for Zuri in Super Cute, I understood the scale of dubbing and fell in love with it. On the recording set, I found everything huge and beautiful—the scenery, the cameras, the uncles who helped us. It was all so much fun!

In the series “The Lord and the Servant,” you play Vita, the youngest daughter of Dudu Pelizzari’s character. What struck you most about this character? Do you think she has a bit of you in her?

Vita is a lot like me! She’s lively, has fun with everything, and is a bit naughty with her sisters. I don’t have any siblings, but I play a lot with my friends. She’s curious, just like me—Vita is literally me!

You do three things that many people dream of doing: singing, acting, and voice acting. Is there one that you enjoy a little more or that makes you feel “at home”?

I like them all, but I still get a little shy in the background. Acting, for me, is the most fun because I have more freedom to create and play. In voice acting, which I also love, we have to adapt to the character we’ve already created and stay very quiet in the studio—we can’t make any noise, because the microphone picks up everything. At first, this was a challenge for me, but now I can handle it!

In dubbing, your voice brings to life characters from films and series that travel the world! What’s it like knowing that children in other places are listening to your voice and enjoying it?

I’m so happy! I really like it. When a friend of mine says they recognize my voice, it’s so much fun!

You’ve done musical theater in The Sound of Music and also work in television. What are the biggest differences you feel between the stage and the camera?

On stage, there’s a backstage area where we joke and chat until our scene arrives. On set, however, we have to be very quiet. On stage, you can barely see the audience, but on set, you can see the cameras—and that, at first, can be a bit nerve-wracking.

Every role should teach you something, right? What have you learned from Vita—and also from the characters you’ve voiced?

Vita reaffirmed a lesson my parents always taught me: never judge someone by their appearance or beliefs, and always get to know the person first. In dubbing, the character who taught me the most was Zuri from Super Cute. In each episode, she shows how friendship and helping others are important in our lives.

If you could choose any character from movies, TV, or musicals to play one day, who would it be? Is there anyone you dream of playing alongside?

Eleven from Stranger Things! And I’d like to act alongside three people: Millie Bobby Brown, Jim Parsons (Sheldon), and Maísa.

When you’re not rehearsing or recording, what does Clara most enjoy doing to have fun and relax?

Play, paint, watch TV and eat!
