Singer, songwriter, and content creator Gabriela Muniz , from Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, made history by becoming the only Brazilian finalist in the global competition Music On Stage – TikTok LIVE, reaching 4th place in the world rankings. At 27, the independent artist—known for her daily live streams and loyal “Gabsters” community—has established herself as one of the leading voices of the new generation of digital musicians. This result symbolizes not only the international recognition of her talent, but also the strength of independent Brazilian music in an increasingly competitive global landscape.

Gabriela, you were the only Brazilian in the global final of Music On Stage – TikTok LIVE. When you heard your name among the finalists, what went through your mind at that moment?

It was a profound feeling of gratitude. I’ve been a TikTok streamer for over five years. It took a lot of dedication, sleepless nights, and moments when I had to believe in my dream alone. Hearing my name among the finalists was like confirmation that all the effort was worth it.

The journey to this stage was marked by a lot of persistence and independent work. What were the biggest challenges of following this path without the support of a major record label?

The biggest challenge is having to be everything at the same time: artist, businesswoman, producer, promoter, manager…

I’m a very creative person, so dealing with the more bureaucratic aspects of daily life is a huge challenge. But at the same time, it’s liberating because I have control of my career.

Your daily live streams have become a meeting point with the “Gabsters,” your loyal community. How has this constant exchange with your audience transformed your relationship with music and yourself?

My relationship with the Gabsters completely transformed me as an artist. Before, I believed I needed to achieve a level of perfection, that nothing was good enough…

This has changed thanks to livestreams, as I’ve realized that, for my fans, seeing every stage of my artistic growth—including the flaws—is something they love. I feel like it humanizes me and connects us.

Music On Stage isn’t just a competition, it’s also a space for discovery and exposure. What lessons have you learned from this experience working alongside creators from around the world?

I’ve learned that community is the most important thing. Ultimately, it’s not just about who sings better or who has more structure—it’s about connection. The people who have more engaged communities, who truly connect with their audience, are the ones who stand out.

This experience showed me the power of cultivating genuine relationships with those who follow you. Because when there’s love and reciprocity between artist and audience, everything changes. That’s what sustains a long-term career, and that’s what gives me the strength to keep going every day.

In a world where so many artists rely on algorithms, you’ve achieved prominence through authenticity and consistency. What advice would you give to those who dream of making a living from music on social media but are still afraid to get started?

Start with what you have, the way you can. Perfection can’t be the starting point. Be consistent, be truthful, and above all, be patient.

Representing Brazil at a global event is a huge responsibility. What was it like bringing our culture and sound to the world through your voice and presence on TikTok?

It was a great honor! I felt the weight and privilege of carrying our flag—of showing that Brazil is music, emotion, and diversity. Every note I sang there was filled with pride, knowing I was carrying our energy to the world.

You’ve talked a lot about gratitude and faith throughout this journey. When has this inner connection been essential to moving forward, especially when the road seemed difficult?

At all times. Faith and gratitude have always been essential in my life. I’m certain I wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for them. I wouldn’t have persisted as a streamer, because this profession has many ups and downs—days of euphoria and days of uncertainty.

Having faith means believing that good things will come, even when the situation seems difficult. It means trusting the process, no matter the day. And gratitude helps me keep my energy high, remember why all of this is happening, and continue delivering the best entertainment possible to my audience, with a light heart.

And looking to the future: after so many achievements, what are Gabriela Muniz’s next steps—in music, in livestreams, and as an independent artist inspiring a new generation?

I’m currently recording a series of original songs—and the most special thing is that I’m doing it live, during my livestreams. My audience can follow the entire creative process in real time.

2026 promises to be a year filled with original releases and many incredible projects. I want to continue expanding my sound, connecting with people around the world, and demonstrating that it’s possible to build a solid career independently, with truth, consistency, and love for what you do.
