History of CRT-03

For more than four decades, Brazilian industrial technicians mobilized in pursuit of professional recognition and the establishment of their own regulatory body. This collective effort built upon the foundations laid by Law No. 5,524/1968 and Decree No. 90,922/1985, which first defined and organized the profession. The long-standing movement advanced through persistent advocacy, institutional dialogue and the dedication of technicians across the country who sought not only formal acknowledgment of their technical expertise, but also a structure capable of guaranteeing ethical practice and qualified service to society.

This historical trajectory reached its landmark moment on March 26, 2018, with the presidential sanction of Law No. 13,639/2018, creating the Federal Council of Industrial Technicians (CFT) and its Regional Councils, including CRT-03. The new framework inaugurated a modern regulatory era, strengthening public trust, enhancing professional dignity and recognizing millions of technicians as essential contributors to Brazil’s economic and technological development. Building on this legacy, CRT-03 continues to uphold its mission of protection, qualification and promotion of the industrial technical profession.
