Julia Gama, Miss Brazil 2020, arrives in Mexico and begins preparations for the live broadcast of the Miss Universe 2025 grand finale in Thailand

The former Miss, who is also part of the Miss Universe Brazil organisation as Operations Director, will cover the backstage of the 74th edition of Miss Universe.

Brazilian Julia Gama (32), winner of Miss Brazil 2020 and runner-up at the world stage in the same year, has now arrived in Mexico. Hired by Telemundo, a network belonging to the NBC Universal Group, Julia will take part in the Miss Universe broadcast as a presenter and reporter for Telemundo in the United States and for Spanish speaking countries via Telemundo International.

Julia will cover the behind the scenes of the pageant’s final, which will take place on 20 November in Thailand. To prepare for this role, she is already following closely the candidates’ final stage of training and, in particular, the Brazilian representative, Maria Gabriela Lacerda, a 24 year old from Piauí, who is her mentee.

As the grand finale approaches, pressure grows on the participants, who are now evaluated daily on criteria such as discipline, posture, public speaking, stage presence, and overall performance demanding an increasingly high level of concentration and commitment. Last Tuesday (4), one of the most symbolic and significant moments of the competition took place: the official sash ceremony “we are now officially Brazil”.

Julia balances her busy schedule in Brazil, where she works as Operations Director of MUB Miss Universe Brazil, a project led by entrepreneur Rodrigo Ferro, owner of the national franchise, supported closely by his wife Carla Ferro, who brings a sensitive perspective to the organisation. Alongside her work for Telemundo, she also takes part in both national and international advertising campaigns and media projects.

“I am fully immersed in rehearsals for the official Miss Universe broadcast with Telemundo. This is the third year I join the channel’s presenting team, and I am the only Brazilian who has ever worked with them on this important event. On 14 November, I will fly to Thailand for on-site commitments and rehearsals leading up to the grand finale,” the Miss reveals.

Following the broadcast of the world’s most prestigious beauty pageant, Julia will return to Brazil and dedicate herself entirely to Miss Universe Brazil, overseeing major events at the Morro dos Anjos Resort, the official home of Miss Universe Brazil. Completely revamped, the competition’s new rules reflect the social transformations experienced by women. Now, married women, mothers, and women of any age can compete for the crown, a historic step forward in the pageant’s evolution.
