At just 7 years old, Sophia Fuggacy is already emerging as one of the most promising talents of the new generation: after debuting in the musical “Sinfonia das Notas” at the Teatro Fashion Mall in Rio de Janeiro, the young actress is preparing to release two feature films in 2025, including her first leading role, consolidating her growing presence in Brazilian theater and audiovisual media.
Sophia, in the new play “Symphony of Notes,” what’s the most fun part for you during rehearsals? Is there a particular song or moment that makes you smile every time you arrive?
The final scene, because it has an incredible dance and, yes, the song “Where is my song, I don’t know”.
Do you enjoy singing, acting, or moving around on stage more? Why?
Acting, because acting is really my thing.
In “Talisman,” you play Pina, your first leading role. What did you enjoy most about being the “owner of the story”? Did it make you feel something special?
I enjoyed having a lot of involvement and, yes, I felt capable of doing something very important.

In the film “Emmanuel,” you play a girl from the past who experiences very strong emotions. How do you get into the mood for these more emotional scenes? Do you have any techniques, or is it more like playing with imagination?
I have a technique: I take a deep breath, think about the saddest thing that has ever happened in my life, and imagine the emotion of the scene.
Between playing Pina, who is closer to our reality, and Flávia, from such a distant time, which of the two was more “magical” for you?
Both! I can’t choose. Pina was quirky and very funny, and Flávia has an illness and is cured — each one was special in her own way.
On the film sets, you acted alongside older and much more experienced actors. Was there any special advice or kindness shown to you that you still remember today?
Yes! Stepan always said to live the scene, not just act it out.

What do you learn most from working in theater and film? Is it something you take with you into life outside of the stage as well?
The harder you try, the better the scene becomes — and yes, I give my best in everything I do.
If you could choose any character in the world to play when you grow up—it could be from a movie, cartoon, book, or even invented—who would you like to be and why?
The Fire Girl, because I did a really cool school project called “My Hero or My Heroine,” where we had to write a 20-line essay. I created the Fire Girl, named Letícia. She was very beautiful, cool, and had the power to unleash fire against evil.
