At just 10 years old, actress Alice Monteiro is already building a solid career in Brazilian audiovisual media and is celebrating a new milestone by joining the cast of “Ben-Hur,” Record’s upcoming production in partnership with Seriella Produções. In the story, she plays Tiza as a child, the protagonist’s sister, expanding her on-screen experience after acting alongside Susana Vieira and Valentina Herszage in the Globo film “Coisa de Novela.” With a background in musical theater and a passion for acting that emerged in early childhood, Alice is standing out as one of the most promising young talents of her generation.

Alice, you said that you knew you wanted to be an actress since you were five years old. Do you remember the moment or feeling that made you realize that this was your dream?

When I saw the soap opera Poliana, and then other children’s soap operas, one after the other, I realized that’s what I wanted. I wanted to be inside the TV.

Theatre has been a very important part of your journey. How do you feel when you’re on stage and the lights come on?

I always get butterflies in my stomach. But at the same time, it’s a huge thrill and adrenaline rush. And I always end up having a lot of fun.

You’ve been in several musicals, such as Chiquititas and Peter Pan. Is there a character you played that still holds a special place in your heart? Why?

Yes, Tinker Bell. It was absolutely magical. The rehearsals were so much fun, and I was on stage with so many friends. Tinker Bell’s magic is contagious. I really identified with her.

In the film “Coisa de Novela,” you acted alongside Suzana Vieira. What was it like to meet and work with such an experienced actress? What did you learn from her?

It was an incredible experience. I learned so much. The connection was so strong that I felt like she was my real grandmother. She would hug me, talk to me, ask about my life. I learned a lot by watching her act and listening to her advice. She always said that we had to feel the character.

Now you’re playing young Tiza in Ben-Hur. What moved you the most or made you happy when you found out you would be part of this project?

I always wanted to be part of a soap opera, and this made me very emotional. My grandmother watched a lot of soap operas on Record TV, and I always sat near her to watch. When I found out I would be part of one, I was very happy.

Filming a soap opera or a movie is a different experience from theater. What do you enjoy most when you’re on a film set?

What I enjoy most is being in action, in front of the camera, with the director directing and the other actors…Yes. But that’s during the recording. Beforehand, I love talking to everyone who’s there. I really enjoy that moment before we start recording, interacting and getting to know people.

Even with so many commitments as an actress, you’re still a child at heart. What do you most enjoy doing when you’re not acting?

Playing. I love running, jumping, playing dodgeball, hide-and-seek, drawing, among other things.

When you think about the future, what kind of character do you still dream of playing?

I dream big! I want to be the star of a movie or a soap opera and also make it to Hollywood.
