At just 10 years old, Rio de Janeiro-born actress Antonella Benvenuti already has a solid career in Brazilian audiovisual media, with appearances in television, film, and theater. After acting in productions such as “Genesis” and “The Life of Job,” the young artist takes another important step in her career by joining the cast of the telenovela “A Nobreza do Amor” on TV Globo. With continuous training and dedication to acting, Antonella stands out as one of the new talents in national television drama, combining experiences in major productions with a consistent investment in her artistic development.
Antonella, you started acting very young. Do you remember the moment you realized you wanted to be an actress? What fascinates you most about this world?
When I saw children acting on TV, it always fascinated me! Bringing characters to life makes me very happy.
You’ve worked in soap operas, film, and theater. What changes for you between acting on television, on stage, and in a film? Is there one you find more fun?
I love acting. In theater, you feel the emotion and the reaction of the people right away. On TV and in film, although the result comes later, the emotion is the same. And I also love being backstage—I have a lot of fun with my fellow actors.
In “The Nobility of Love,” your new telenovela on Globo, you play the character Aurelinda. How was it to find out you would be part of this production, and what most attracted you to the character?
I was very emotional and my heart was full of gratitude for everyone who trusted me throughout the auditions. Aurelinda is a character who, even before the soap opera started, demanded a lot from me, right?! I had to cut my hair very short, but that wasn’t a problem. She amuses me a lot, especially by teasing her sister all the time. But she’s also obedient.
Throughout your career, you’ve worked with important directors and productions. What do you feel you’ve learned the most from these experiences?
I learned how to behave on set. Knowing how to wait is fundamental! And I think it’s really cool how everyone helps each other.
Besides acting, you also study a lot to prepare yourself as an actress. What do you enjoy learning most in acting classes?
I enjoy learning about emotions and how to deal with them.
In the film “No Going Back,” you participated in a film production. What was the experience like being on a film set and shooting for a feature film?
I filmed at the airport, and it was really cool to see everything working off-set. But it’s hard work! Hahaha
Theater is also part of your journey, as in the show “1,2,3 Testing”. What is it like to perform live, with the audience watching?
It’s different! I improvised a lot, depending on the audience’s reaction. But it was a lot of fun!
You’re still at the beginning of your career, but you’ve already had some very special experiences. What are your dreams for the future as an actress?
My dream is to continue doing more auditions to have more opportunities in audiovisual media and on stages in Brazil — and, who knows, the world! That would be a dream!
