Model officially assumes the national title and begins preparations to compete in the Miss Grand International, one of the world’s most prestigious beauty pageants

Model Paula Assunção has officially been appointed and crowned Miss Grand Brazil 2026, becoming Brazil’s representative at the upcoming Miss Grand International, one of the world’s leading beauty pageants. The appointment marks one of the most significant milestones in her career and consolidates a journey built on dedication, discipline and remarkable achievements within the pageant industry.

Over the past five years, Paula has earned an impressive collection of national and international titles, establishing herself as one of the most prominent figures among Brazil’s new generation of beauty queens. Recognised for her professionalism, elegance and stage presence, she now embarks on the greatest challenge of her career, ready to represent Brazil on one of the world’s biggest beauty competition stages.

The unveiling of the new Miss Grand Brazil took place in an innovative format. Rather than holding a traditional live coronation ceremony, the organisation opted for a cinematic audiovisual production filmed in São Paulo, featuring the iconic Sampa Sky observation deck among several striking locations that provided a sophisticated backdrop for the official announcement.

One of the most memorable moments was the official sash and crown handover by Miss Grand Brazil 2025, Kaliana Diniz. In a spectacular entrance, Kaliana arrived by helicopter to officially pass on the title, concluding her reign after securing a place among the Top 20 finalists at the Miss Grand International competition.

Following her official crowning, Paula now begins an intensive preparation programme ahead of the Miss Grand International 2026. The international pageant activities will commence on 18 September, with the Grand Final scheduled for 10 October in India, taking place across the cities of Jaipur and New Delhi.

Recognised as one of the four largest beauty pageants in the world and part of the prestigious Grand Slam of Beauty competitions, Miss Grand International brings together contestants from dozens of countries and enjoys extensive international recognition. The organisation is led by Thai businessman Nawat Itsaragrisil, alongside Vice-President Teresa Chaivisut. The current titleholder is Emma Mary Tiglao of the Philippines, winner of the 2025 edition.

Another highlight of Paula’s coronation was the exclusive gown she wore for the official presentation. The dress was designed by internationally renowned Filipino couturier Ryan Ablaza Usong (RAU), widely recognised for his haute couture creations for beauty pageants. The bespoke gown was crafted in the Philippines and specially shipped to Brazil for the occasion.

In addition to her coronation, Paula Assunção has another prestigious engagement this Saturday (25), when she will serve as a judge at the Miss Universe Brazil 2026 Grand Final. She will join a distinguished panel that includes Miss Grand International 2022 Isabella Menin, Olympic volleyball champion Giba, entrepreneur and Miss Brazil 2013 Jakelyne Oliveira, television presenter Adriane Galisteu, Leo Reis, linguist and founder of the American English Academy, along with other prominent personalities from the worlds of fashion, television and beauty pageants.

The ceremony will be broadcast live by Record TV and RecordPlus, beginning at 10:30 pm (BRT).
