Friday is the perfect day to let loose and get lost in the music, and singer-songwriter Huddson knows it. In his new single, entitled “Flutua”, the artist from Brasilia marks the beginning of a new phase in his career, with a series of releases focused on pop. The song brings an atmosphere of celebration and opens a narrative that explores the different stages of a night out.

“Flutua” is more than just an upbeat song, it represents a meaningful transition. For Huddson, the song symbolizes the transition from the dark period of the pandemic to more promising times. It is an invitation to transcend and free yourself from the bitterness of the past, embracing a new state of mind. At the same time, the song also celebrates the present moment, weekends, leisure travel and gratitude for being here.

With a 30-year career and a diverse musical trajectory, Huddson brings in his new phase a focus on joy and high spirits. Its lively lyrics and dancing sound, with elements of house, refer to electronic music parties and the great international DJs. Inspired by names like Alok, David Guetta, Tiesto and Ava Max, the singer promises to take listeners to an immersive and vibrant experience.

The release of “Flutua” is just the beginning of Huddson’s new musical journey, which promises to bring even more energy and fun to his fans. The lyric video for the song is already available on YouTube, while a visualizer will be released soon. Get ready to dance and enjoy the best of pop with the talented artist from Brasilia.

What is the inspiration behind the song “Flutua” and how does it represent this new career phase?

“Flutua” opens a series of songs that tell a little about the stages of a “night out”. “This first song represents the transition between the week of work, tasks and obligations, for the weekend, with lighter and happier emotions”, says the singer.

From a more reflective point of view, “Flutua” represents a transition from the darkest period, the pandemic, to new times. “Floats represents transcending to a new state of mind, a new era, it represents respecting the painful past, but getting out of it, not being trapped by the bitterness it left behind”. “From a lighter point of view, it represents the celebration of the now: the weekend, the leisure trip, the moment with friends or family; it represents gratitude for being here”, he adds.

I really wanted to bring this feeling of going to another plane from the moment the music starts playing, so in the visualizer, when putting on the headphones, it’s as if the conscience awakens in another place, lighter and more fun.

How would you describe the musical style and sound of your new single?

It is undoubtedly a pop song, but it flirts a lot with Dance Music. It has a happy and energetic feel, to give you that energy boost! The chorus repeats the word “Flutua” with great vigour, it’s a moment to let off steam.

What can listeners expect from the string of pop-focused releases you’re planning?

It will all be very high spirits! Always in line with Pop, but going through different rhythms and intentions. A mix of sounds and emotions that permeate a night of adventures. I also want to release some remixes and who knows one or another version adding a feat… I’m exploring these possibilities.

How was the composition process for the song “Flutua” and what was the contribution of co-authors Matheus Melo and Bia Marques?

Me, Matheus and Bia met specifically to compose and there, in a composition wheel, the music flowed super-fast! I was telling them about the feelings I wanted to put in the song and soon Matheus was incorporating the beat, the vibe, and with that Bia and I were bringing the lyrics and the melody – Matheus helped with that too. It is a very cool process, and this joining of talents is very productive˜.

In addition to the single release, you are also releasing a lyric video and visualizer. Can you tell us a little more about these visual projects?

I love the audiovisual, I believe it helps to convey even more the sensations that I want to bring with the songs. For me, I would make music videos for everything lol (there’s sponsorship!). The Lyric video helps to meditate on the lyrics of the song at the same time that a visual stimulus is going on, I think it helps to disconnect a little from the outside world and live that emotion of the music with more concentration. The visualizer, on the other hand, is a simplified version of what a music video would be… and conveys the vibe, the artist’s energy very well.

How do you think “Flutua” can connect with listeners and convey a message of transition and celebration?

The beginning of the song already says: “I silenced my cell phone!” – I think that phrase already evokes the feeling that something good is coming! And soon after comes a strong and happy beat, I think this is able to influence the mood and already raise the vibration! And with that, I believe that people will be able to start to see that moment or that day with good eyes…they say that the eyes are the light of the body, right? With that, I hope that the music awakens good feelings and that a ripple effect of well-being and good energies begins!

Over your 30-year career, how do you see your evolution as an artist and how does this new phase differ from your previous work?

I lived many different experiences in music, I went through different styles and formats. Choirs, duos, bands, piano and voice, voice and guitar, musical theater, etc. However, always with cover music or musicals/renowned authors. In the authorial, now that I’m delving deeper, despite having released a song in 2019 (Hold On / Não Pare).

I feel very challenged to express myself in the best way now, bringing all my authenticity and audacity in the new songs. I hope people feel this sound and perceive it as something different, new, exciting!

What are your musical influences and references that inspire your musical style?

There are many! But I will name a few main ones from the more pop universe: Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, John Legend, Charlie Puth, Ricky Martin, Kylie Minogue… and the list goes on…

How would you describe the importance of music and art in overcoming difficult times, such as the pandemic we are currently experiencing?

Music has the power to help us access difficult emotions, and accessing them is the first step in processing them. Music can also help to heal, to reframe. Therefore, it is very important to choose well which music to listen to and at what time, as this can make all the difference in the objective you want to achieve at that moment or day.

Music also has the power to bring people together: a couple, a family, a community. And there are no barriers even when the language is unknown, as music communicates in a profound and subjective way, even if the words are not understood.

What are your expectations and plans for the future of your music career?

As soon as we release these first two EPs, I would like to start doing live performances (I’m already preparing for that). I want to be able to be close to people, bringing that sound and that entertainment experience. I really want to take the show to festivals, be together with people and professionals in the field. And I already have two initial ideas for the next albums, which are still maturing, however.
