If you thought that the “ECDISE” era had already ended, you are wrong. This Thursday (4), Chameleo continues the work of his first album with the release of the remix of “TOKYO”, alongside none other than Pabllo Vittar. The track, which is one of the most beloved by fans, gained a new luxurious outfit with the signature of Cyber

After the success of the partnership between Chameleo and Pabllo Vittar in “frequente(mente)”, the artists come together once again in the remix of “TOKYO”, a track present on the album “ECDISE”, released in October 2021 and which has already surpassed the 10 million plays mark on Spotify. The song, which won a video and stood out among the project’s singles and in live performances, is now revisited with a

more electronic, dance floor, and has even more verses in Japanese, this time also sung by the drag queen.

“TOKYO” is yet another perfect song to bring friends Chameleo and Vittar back together again, as they are both passionate about Japanese culture, which is revered in the track. In addition, the song has also always been one of Pabllo’s favorites since “ECDISE” was made available, as Chameleo recounted:

“For me, having one more song together with Pabllo is surreal. After ‘frequently(mindly)’, in such a short time, we’re back now with the remix of ‘TOKYO’, which is a song that is Pabllo’s face. Since the album came out, ‘TOKYO’ has been her favorite and speaks volumes to our passion for this anime universe, for Japan. So this song represents me a lot, but it also represents a lot for Pabllo, because it talks about freedom and still exalts Japanese culture, which we are both fans of. I’m really happy with this new song proposal, more dance floor, and making everyone dance and jump.”

The production of the remix of “TOKYO” was in charge of the duo Cyberkills. Chameleo explained that the duo’s choice for the remix was easy, as they are friends and know how to make the famous “stack” like few others. He also said that Gabriel Diniz and Rodrigo de Oliveira, who form the duo, also had an opinion on the choice of Pabllo Vittar for the track:

“Thinking about remix is thinking about Cyberkills. They know how to make a good ‘stake’ for the track. I remember talking to the boys, still with the idea of who could join forces with us on this remix, the idea of bringing Pabllo Vittar was unanimous. When I made the invitation, she accepted and it was the same emotion I felt back there, when she accepted to record ‘often(mindly)’.”

About the new outfit chosen for “TOKYO”, Cyberkills explained:

“We tried to make the music as Brazilian as possible with references to our musicality and nostalgia for electronic music, such as synthesizers characteristic of the trance of the 1990s. We went from some aspects of funk to verses and drop (rave funk and miami bass). At the time of Pabllo, we referred to music from Pará with very marked metallic snares, as a way of paying homage to the artist’s origins.”

They also said that, as for the sound design, they resorted to sound effects reminiscent of anime to give the phonogram more veracity. For example, sounds from the famous “Sailor Moon” cartoon were used.

On the cover of the remix of “TOKYO”, Chameleo and Pabllo Vittar appear in cartoon format, continuing the same aesthetic used in the music and extolling, once again, Japanese anime. The art was conceived and developed by the duo New Gods, composed by Aquarux and Wanderson Lima.
