The first half of the 2022 FIA Formula 4 Brazil season has ended. This Saturday and Sunday (6th and 7th), the young drivers were once again at the José Carlos Pace racetrack, in Interlagos, São Paulo, for the dispute of the third stage in a triple round in this debut year of the competition.

Felipe Barrichello Bartz struggled a lot to evolve his Formula 4 during practice and races, but he still had a lot of problems, especially with engine performance on the straights of the circuit. Even so, he ended the stage scoring points in races 2 and 3, with two Top-8s.

In race 2, the result could have been even better. Starting from 11th on the grid, Pipe started very well, overtaking several cars and already closed the first lap in seventh place. The driver came to take fifth position, but from the middle to the end of the race the car’s performance got worse and Pipe did the best he could to get in the points zone.

In race 3, the driver started in ninth and again crossed the finish line in eighth. With the results, he remains among the top 10 in the championship, with 31 points, in ninth place.

“It was two very difficult weekends for us here in Interlagos”, commented Pipe, also remembering the electrical problems faced last weekend.

“We had a lot of problems and we couldn’t get the best out of the car. There was always something that kept us from being more competitive. But even so, we were improving, evolving”, continued the pilot, who runs for the Cavaleiro Sports team.

“It was not the result I would have liked, but in this last race eighth place showed an improvement. I’m happy to have managed to reach the points and now it’s time to keep my head up and work to come back stronger at Velocitta, where I was on the podium in the first stage”, he concluded.

In the three stages and nine races held so far, Pipe already has a podium (second place in the Velocitta) and has scored points in six races. The fourth stage will take place at Velocitta, in Mogi Guaçu (SP), on September 4th.

In his debut season in Formula 4 Brazil, the 17-year-old driver is sponsored by companies Suhai Seguradora, Pay4Fun, Copa Energia and Amaro Aviation.
