From acting to music, Azzy, a rising force in the art scene, has been gaining admirers across multiple platforms. Recognized for her performance in the successful soap opera ‘Vai Na Fé’, where she plays Ivy, and now signed by the renowned Warner Music Brasil, the young artist starts the second half of 2023 in style. With impressive numbers that exceed one billion views on YouTube and hits like ‘Faixa Rosa’ dominating the charts, Azzy is preparing for another step in her career.

Under the invitation of Orochi, Azzy will be present at the first edition of the prestigious music festival in São Paulo, The Town, scheduled for September 2nd. A rising star, she has wowed crowds across the country, including appearances at high-profile events such as Rock In Rio and the Rep Festival. In addition, her musical career continues in full growth, with the imminent arrival of the EP ‘Lovezy’, which promises to present tracks in the love song style and should be released in the second half of September.

Azzy, however, is not limited to music. Her performance as an actress has attracted fans and media attention, with her participation in the telenovela ‘Vai Na Fé’. Her trajectory, originated in rhyme battles and influenced by names like Shaman and Orochi, is a story of empowerment, overcoming and success. Her impact knows no borders, reaching even the screens of Times Square, in New York, with projections that celebrate the strength of women and her reinterpretations of classics like ‘Pagu’.

From running away from home at age 12 to becoming an influential voice in hip hop, Azzy embodies the determination and willpower that permeate her craft. His autobiographical lyrics, his association with Pineapple and his many appearances on Poesia Acústica are reflections of his unique and inspiring journey. Thus, it not only represents hip hop culture, but also serves as an example of how music can transform lives and save stories, such as Isabela Oliveira, who became the unmistakable Azzy.

Hello Azzy! Congratulations on all your recent career achievements. How do you feel being invited to participate in the first edition of the renowned music festival “The Town” in São Paulo?

I’m still not over Rock In Rio, right? (laughs) It’s always an electrifying energy to receive invitations to perform on such gigantic stages. Every show is a unique experience. And having the opportunity to be on so many incredible stages, carrying my message, my art. I just have to thank for that.

It’s heartwarming to know that you and Orochi have had a long friendship since the days of the Tank battles. What does it mean to you to share such an important stage with someone so close to you?

Oh, it means a lot! I’ve known Flavinho for many years, there’s no way not to be moved by this presentation, because it brings a lot of nostalgia from the beginning. From battles to Poetry, and so on. I’m very happy, I’m sure the audience will really enjoy seeing this meeting on stage at The Town.

His YouTube numbers are impressive, surpassing one billion views. Among his hit songs, “Faixa Rosa” has more than 25 million total plays. How do you deal with that support and love from the fans?

I just have to really thank my fans. In fact, I don’t think I can thank you, because without them none of this would be possible. Words are missing to say how important the presence of each one in my life is. It’s a love and gratitude that I can’t even explain.

We are looking forward to the release of the “Lovezy” EP in the second half of September. Can you tell us a little more about what we can expect from this new project?

There are previews on my Instagram so you can get a taste of what’s to come (laughs). More than that, I can say that it’s a project that brings a lot of my emotion, my experiences, loves, dislikes… You can expect an EP with a lot of lovezy!

Now being hired by Warner Music Brasil, how do you see this new phase in your career and how does it affect your creative process?

Thank God, Warner came to add to my career, you know? My creative process continues to be very free, very much in line with my artistic personality, and that’s amazing. I am very happy with this partnership.

In addition to music, we also saw you acting in the soap opera “Vai Na Fé” on Rede Globo. How has this experience of acting been and how do you see the intersection between your musical career and acting?

The experience of acting alongside so many iconic actors is something I’m still processing. I already miss the set. Acting is something that complements singing a lot, after all, we also bring a lot of performance on stage to shows. So, I see a lot of both arts walking together, and adding a lot in my construction as an artist, you know? Singing, composing, acting, everything converging in the best way for me to learn, evolve in the best way.

You’re confirmed for “The Town” festival and you’ve been playing shows all over the country. What are your expectations for the event and how do you prepare to energize the audience?

A lot of rehearsal, a lot of rehearsal and a lot of rehearsal. The public always deserves to see my best. So I’m always rehearsing a lot so that each show is unique.

In addition to Brazil, you’ve even had your songs released in Times Square in New York. How is it for you to know that your music is reaching international audiences?

Having my face stamped twice on the biggest postcard in NY is something I still don’t understand. To think that just the other day, I was at the battles of São Gonçalo. Are you aware of this? It’s too much! I just have to thank the fans and also the distributors who have always recognized my work. In both actions that went to Times Square, I was involved with projects linked to female empowerment. I work a lot to give women a voice, and getting this kind of recognition gives me even greater confidence that I’m on the right track.

From your childhood passion for hip hop to your experiences in rhyme battles, you have come a long way. How would you describe your evolution as an artist to this point?

Exactly as you ask me. It’s an evolution. An evolution as an artist and as a human being, for which I am very grateful. I hope to continue evolving with great humility, always having opportunities to continue taking street culture wherever I go.

His lyrics are often autobiographical and talk about overcoming difficulties. What is the message you most want to convey to your fans through your music?

True. Without a doubt, true!

Finally, what can we expect from Azzy in the future? What are his plans and goals to continue making his mark in the music industry?

A lot of work. We are what we sow, right?
