With more than 220 million views on YouTube and a musical career that ranges from sertanejo to “trapiseiro” style, Kadu Martins stands out as one of the main “hits makers” today. With hits like “Red de Maracujá”, “Virando o Olhinho” and “Halls na Língua”, the artist from Ceará has conquered the public and reached prominent positions on digital platforms.

With about 8 million monthly listeners on Spotify, his songs have become true phenomena both in Brazil and on the global stage. In addition, his recent collaboration with Naiara Azevedo on the track “Só Me Usou” promises to be another great success in his career. With a style that mixes Naiara’s sertanejo with Kadu’s northeastern swing, the song arrives with a clip full of visual references and contagious choreography, further consolidating the artist’s position in the music scene.

You’ve become a phenomenon on digital platforms with danceable songs and lyrics that address current issues. How do you balance creating upbeat music with meaningful messages?

I’ve always made romantic songs, but in 2021 I started writing more upbeat songs with different vibes.

Their hits have reached top positions on music charts and have millions of views on YouTube. How would you describe the feeling of seeing your songs being so well received by the public?

It’s a childhood dream to see all this passing before my eyes!

In addition to the success on digital platforms, you are also focused on performing and recording in different regions of the country. How do you stay so active and what do you love most about the experience of performing live?

We have to spend 48 hours thinking about everything and doing everything in the best possible way. What I love most about presentations is actually everything. From the trip, logistics, public, reception, dressing room. Seeing the children dancing and singing is very rewarding.

His new DVD “Prazer, Eu Sou Kadu Martins” features several collaborations, including renowned artists such as Xand Avião and MC Don Juan. How did you choose these participations and what was it like working with them?

We chose friends, people who got involved from the heart and dedicated themselves 100% to the project with us. Working with each of them was a great pleasure, I admire them all.

The single “Halls na Língua” won first place among the most performed songs on Youtube Brazil. How does it feel to see one of your songs reach that position and gain so much recognition?

The plug takes a while to fall, God knows everything and my happiness is exactly that!

You venture into different musical styles, including forró. How was the experience of collaborating with Xand Avião on “Risca Faca” and exploring that sound?

What I like is forró, and forró I will always like. My joy is arriving at a forró and seeing the accordion rip. Jokes aside, Xand Avião is my reference in music and it was a great pleasure to share this experience with him.
