“Chama a Bebel”, is one of the features selected at the 28th Schlingel Festival
National cinema continues to make history, and this time, it is crossing borders to shine at the 28th Schlingel Festival, in Chemnitz, Germany. The film “Chama a Bebel”, with Antônio Zeni and Giulia Benite, is one of those selected in the “Junior Film” category of the renowned film festival for children and young people, which will take place from September 23rd to 30th.
The actor, who is ready to leave for the German country, spoke a little about how he felt when he found out about the feature film’s nomination: “When I found out that Chama a Bebel was selected for this festival in Germany, I was very happy, really. It’s very gratifying to see the film being recognized outside of Brazil.”
The plot addresses fundamental themes, such as sustainability, diversity and inclusion, transmitting these messages in an engaging way, as the actor explains: “It’s a story told in a creative way, it’s developed in an interesting way, it has an entire narrative well constructed by behind the messages that the film brings to the public.”
In Paulo Nascimento’s feature film, Zeni plays Beto, a young man with few friends who likes to paint graffiti: “I would say that the experience of bringing Beto to life was very enriching and very challenging at the same time, because he is a totally different character. So I had to challenge myself, be bold both in building the character and in the physical change in which I had to bleach my hair to compose his look.”
“Chama a Bebel” was recorded at the beginning of the year in Rio Grande do Sul, and will be in cinemas at the beginning of 2024.
