How does it feel to see “Suite 14” surpass 250 million views on YouTube and 100 million plays on Spotify?
Very happy. Suite 14 was a turning point in our career.
Topping the charts and consecutive weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 were memorable moments in your career. How would you describe this achievement?
Every artist dreams of this, it was an important achievement for our career. We celebrated a lot.
“Suite 14” was a remarkable collaboration with MC Guimê. How did the idea of working together on this song come about?
We were producing the song when we felt it needed something more. We had met Guimê at a concert, so we decided to invite him to take part by writing and singing a rap in the middle of the song, which was unheard of at the time. To our delight, he accepted.
The public has a strong connection with your songs. What do you think makes Henrique and Diego’s songs so captivating?
Certainly the energy we put into them. Our songs have always had a faster pace than normal country music. The lyrics have also always been simple and connected to people’s daily lives.
Apart from “Suite 14”, you have a long list of hit songs. What’s the formula behind your popular songs?
As we said before, our songs portray people’s everyday lives and we believe that this connects us to them. In addition, of course, to the meticulous work that goes into choosing the repertoire and arrangers.
What can fans expect from Henrique and Diego in the future? Are there any exciting new projects or collaborations on the way?
We recently recorded a DVD in São Paulo with special guests and we’re releasing it in four instalments. For 2024 you can expect a lot of unreleased music and some reinterpretations that we’re looking forward to producing.
Considering your entire career in music, what are the most memorable moments you’ve experienced so far?
We’ve had so many special moments, from pubs to international tours. The Suite 14 DVD, for example, had more than 50,000 people, it was a magical moment.
The Brazilian music scene is very diverse. Which artists or genres of music do you most admire and would you like to collaborate with in the future?
We’re very eclectic, maybe that’s our secret. We want to keep flirting with Samba, Pop and Funk. And maybe this year there’ll be something with Trap, right?
