The song “Deus e Eu”, performed by singer Leandro Borges, reached the incredible mark of half a billion views in its live video, available on the artist’s official YouTube channel.
Written by the singer himself, “Deus e Eu” completes a decade in 2024 since it was originally released by Leandro on the album “Deus, Eu e Meu Violão”, the second album of his ministry. The song was later included on the singer’s first live CD and DVD, with reluctance on the part of his team.
“When we launched my DVD, the song was already part of my repertoire. I already sang in churches. Her first video on YouTube was already quite successful, and even for her to be included in the DVD repertoire, my team asked: ‘Ah, but are you going to include ‘God and I’? You’ve sung it so much, you’ve worked so much. Let’s leave the DVD to play other songs’. I said: ‘No, I’m going to put it on because I have a very big deal with this song’. When it came to releasing the DVD it was the same way, we had twenty songs. The initial idea was to present new songs, and once again I said: ‘Guys, I’m sorry, I know it’s not everyone’s opinion, but I’m sorry to release the video for ‘God and I’. And what happened happened”, declared the singer.
The live version of the song, recorded at Teatro Elias Angeloni, in Criciúma, Santa Catarina, became one of the biggest hits in national gospel music, reaching first place on several radio stations, sung in several churches across the country, and reaching the significant half million mark on YouTube
