In an unexpected announcement, the respected Christian rock band, Rosa de Saron, surprised fans by revealing, through their official Instagram last year, that the long-awaited audiovisual project ‘In Concert’ would be released in cinemas across Brazil on the day December 11th. With more than 100 cities confirmed for the exhibitions, the news generated great enthusiasm among admirers, who are now eagerly waiting to experience this unique experience.

Rogério, the band’s bassist, highlighted the importance of taking ‘In Concert’ to the big screen, providing an impactful experience for fans who were unable to be present at the recording held at Theatro Municipal. “They deserve it!” he emphasized.

With four tracks already available on music platforms, ‘In Concert’ garnered more than 5 million streams, setting the stage to enchant Brazil on the big screen. The post promises more information soon, and fans are sparing no effort in hoping to include their cities in this exciting Rose of Sharon project.

Furthermore, the band exclusively revealed in this interview the adaptation of a Portuguese version of the theme song from the film “A Serva”.

How did the idea of releasing the ‘In Concert’ project in cinemas come about and what are the band’s expectations with this innovative decision?

When we were invited to the premiere of the series ‘The Chosen’ in Brazil, which was being released in cinemas, we met the people from KOLBE, who were doing the publicity part, and they do this type of content distribution in movie theaters. And then a conversation began to emerge there, at their own invitation; We developed the idea together, and that’s how it all started.

What can fans expect from this audiovisual project and how do you believe it will impact the public who were unable to be present at the recording?

The idea of cinema is to be able to provide fans who weren’t able to be there on the day of filming with an experience that was just as impactful, right? Because then you will have the sound, the image reproduced on a large scale, and the person watches it in a room with other people. I think it’s being able to give those who weren’t able to be there on the day of recording the chance to have such an incredible and impactful experience as if they were there.

What was the experience of combining the rock style with classical elements, such as the participation of the symphony orchestra and other guest artists?

It wasn’t exactly an original experience, since the idea of combining rock and erudite comes from way back; when Scorpions made a DVD with an orchestra, it impacted a lot of people; Then other bands did the same, like Metallica, and we thought ‘man, look how incredible it would be if our songs could have that look too’, so it was inspired by rock artists that we admire.

‘In Concert’ has already garnered millions of streams on music platforms. How do you hope the theatrical release will expand the reach of this project?

It’s another shelf, another type of shelf, so I think that the more spaces you open to present your work, the more likely it is that people will get to know it; Even though we believe that our audience is much more specific, there is always that curious person walking around, or that friend who is invited to be there, so we imagine that cinema is another opportunity to present ourselves to people. people. When you enter different vehicles, you expand these opportunities. We end up reaching a different audience, or even reaching the same audience in a different way, which ends up generating new experiences for them with the band, and this brings the audience closer to the band.

Could you share with us what the recording was like at Theatro Municipal de São Paulo and the importance of the artistic collaborations present in this recording?

It was an emotional, incredible and unforgettable experience for us to record at Theatro Municipal. It has a very important iconic stage, in addition to all the weight of history it carries, and it has its beauty, which is surreal. A wonderful setting in itself; The theater alone is a great setting, right? So, being able to record a DVD there was something that made us feel very honored, very proud of this opportunity. And the participation, man, was incredible! People with whom we already had a type of connection: a story, who at some point already shared something with us, or who we did something together, or even really liked. And the most important thing about the appearances is that they were very truthful, and that resonated with the public; the public felt that there was truth there, that it wasn’t just a meeting to make a song, but that there was a connection between the artists.

Did the inclusion of special appearances, such as Padre Fábio de Melo, Kemuel, Leonardo Gonçalves, among others, enrich the project in any way? How have these partnerships influenced the band’s musical approach?

So, these participations, in addition to what I said in the previous answer about the connection we have with them, which goes beyond the artistic, it enriches us a lot because we had the grace of being able to bring together many different things there. So, there was a gospel choir, evangelical singers, a priest, a country singer, a rapper and there was a rocker. So, all of this together with Rosa and an orchestra, gave a very cool result and we were able to present a great musical diversity, which is something that we are very proud of always doing, and not being restricted within our style, of our musical segment. In this sense, they greatly enriched the DVD, because each one brought a little of their style. And I think this helps to do something different, more diverse, with more of a new flavor. So they all greatly enriched the project.

‘In Concert’ marks the first audiovisual project with Faglione as vocalist. How has the public received this new phase of the band?

Yes, although we have already done a lot of material with him in terms of music videos, in addition to two albums, two complete albums, it was the first time that we did a complete DVD-style show, the old DVD, with Bruno. And I think this really helps people get to know him more intimately, because during a whole show you can feel his artistic performance, his vocals, his charisma, everything. Although our audience is already very familiar with Bruno, as we are going into our fifth year with him, this type of record is a format that we haven’t had with him yet. In Concert exposed the artist that he is to these people who had not yet seen him in this format. I think Bruno came out of this DVD very well, because he did very well and performed very well. I believe that people had this perception of the size of the artist he is, which is really cool.

Within the DVD repertoire, is there a song that carries special meaning for you? What is the story behind it?

Ah, it’s very difficult to say, because we gathered many years of history there. There is music from all phases and that marked them all; There is no more or less music for us there, they are all very special. Rose of Saron has a very extensive, very large repertoire, with more than 100 songs released to date, and being able to condense this into just 20 songs was a huge task. I will then highlight “A Rosa e o Espinho”, because it is one of the only new ones on the DVD and because it portrays the current context of the band, the history of that moment, what we were going through, what Bruno was going through… I think it becomes the hallmark of In Concert.

What are the band’s future plans after the release of ‘In Concert’? Is there any other news or project in development?

Oh yes, we don’t stop, right? Now we are preparing something new that we haven’t even announced yet: we are making the Portuguese version of the theme song for a film called “A Serva”, which will be released in cinemas in February. This is something we had never done, something unprecedented in our careers. We also have a new tour in 2024, and we want to take In Concert shows to some capitals in Brazil. It’s a difficult task because it involves the orchestra, which is a very big thing; We will need some partnerships, but at first we still dream of putting on the In Concert show in some capitals.

How would you describe the essence of this project and what you hope the public feels and takes away with them after watching ‘In Concert’?

I would define In Concert as something epic. There’s lyrical singing, there’s symphony, there’s choir, rock, the theater itself, the band’s best songs, so it’s epic. What I can say, from the testimony of people who were there on the day of the recording and from statements from the public after the release of the first singles, is that people leave ecstatic after watching In Concert; This is the feeling, they are impacted. It is very grand, aesthetically speaking, so I think people feel that it is still possible to do grand and beautiful things, with poetry and art, and that is also what we are trying to convey.
