Being part of the select group of athletes on the main Brazilian volleyball team, Valquíria feels honored and confident that hard work is the key to success. Despite her achievements in volleyball, Valquíria expresses interest in exploring the area of communication in the future, having already completed courses and parallel projects between training and games. With her determination and passion, she hopes to have many opportunities in this field, while maintaining her focus on chasing the title in the current season.

What are your main goals for the current Volleyball Super League season and how are you preparing to achieve them?

Main objectives are to be champion in the Copa Brasil and then in the Superliga. The preparation has been very arduous and full of challenges. We are taking great care of our physical and mental health. Bernardo motivates us on the court and that always keeps us alert. Our focus is entirely on our team, here. No external distractions!

In addition to your volleyball achievements, you mentioned your desire to grow financially and help your family. How do you plan to achieve these goals off the court?

I believe that, with the growth I have shown this season and with the opportunity to work with Mynd this year, at their invitation, I will have greater opportunities to work with what I love too, which is communication.

What is your training routine like to stay at a high level as a professional volleyball player?

I try to maintain a strong eating and training routine. It’s hard to say the days I’m not training. But good habits, rest and adequate sleep are very important weapons to maintain high performance. And, of course, leisure time is also important. After all, resting your mind is essential to continue a routine that is quite demanding.

You mentioned wanting to play in the Olympics. How do you prepare yourself mentally and physically to achieve this goal?

My preparation is daily and very arduous. Of course, the dream of going to the Olympics is huge. However, I know that there are other factors that do not depend solely on me. Furthermore, our selection is very well served. As for me, I have been firm in my journey, working hard to always be ready. If one day the opportunity comes, I will grab it with all my strength.

What are the biggest challenges you have faced in your career so far and how have you overcome them?

There are many challenges, daily and recurring. Some of them include being away from family, withstanding external and internal pressure, remaining at peak performance most of the time and maintaining the mental integrity to deal with our routine and pressure. I believe that our profession is a daily choice, but in the end it is always worth it. I love what I do, which often makes difficult days easier.

What does it mean to you to be part of the select group of athletes on the main Brazilian volleyball team?

I feel honored and certain that only work wins.

What is it like working under Bernardinho’s guidance as a coach at Flamengo? How has he influenced your development as a player?

Bernardo is a work machine. Our team as a whole is a machine. They taught me and teach me a lot. Bernardo doesn’t let you hang your head even on the worst days. Sometimes it’s very difficult, but when you think about it, he’s right. He teaches me a lot about discipline, control, about everything I need to do to be who I want to be. “Do the best with what we have, every day.” And he is the best. How lucky I am to be on this team.

You have already had international experiences in volleyball. How have these experiences shaped your career and your perspective on the sport?

Brazil is not the center of the world of our sport. Yes, we are a reference, which is a source of great pride, but also a source of responsibility. After all, we, the new generation, have a lot to do to maintain the position that our champions left behind.

In addition to your volleyball achievements, you expressed interest in working in communications and studying more about it. How do you plan to explore this area in the future?

I’ve already taken some courses and do some things between training and games. However, I know that this is something for the future and needs to be placed as the main objective. Today, my main objective is to be champion in the 23/24 season. But yes, I love this area, and God willing, I hope to have many opportunities in this field.
