Child actor Lorenzo Reis , just 9 years old, has been winning over audiences with his performance in Globo’s 7pm soap opera, Dona de Mim, where he plays Dedé, the son of Giovanna Lancellotti’s character. In addition to television, Lorenzo has also shined in theater, recently performing in the play O Bicho Vai Pegar. With a career that includes appearances in the plays Palhaço Garoinha and Azar, at Teatro Petrobras, and performances in productions such as Família é Tudo and the film A Lista, the young talent promises to continue growing and surprising everyone with his charisma and talent.
You are playing Dedé in Globo’s 7pm soap opera, “Dona de Mim”, a character that is part of Giovanna Lancellotti’s core. What has it been like for you to bring Dedé to life and share scenes with such a well-known TV cast?
For me, it’s been incredible. I’ve never had the experience of playing a character with separated parents. I can feel that it’s not easy for a young child to have his father in prison and only his mother participating in his life. Playing this character is quite challenging, but at the same time a lot of fun for me.
In addition to television, you also shine on stage with the play “O Bicho Vai Pegar” and other theatrical productions. What do you feel is different when you are acting in the theater compared to when you are in front of the TV cameras?
What I feel is different is that in theater we explore space and facial expressions more, and we use our voices at a higher tone. On TV, it’s the opposite: the voice has a more natural, conversational tone. There are also markings used to position the actors on stage, something that doesn’t exist in theater.

Your experience in plays such as “Palhaço Garoinha ” and “Azar” shows that you already have a very rich theatrical background. Which of these performances has left the biggest impression on you so far and why?
Without a doubt, it was my first play, “Where was the nose that was here?”, in which I played the clown Garoinha . There, I realized that theater would be something that would be part of my life.
You also had a cameo in “Family is Everything” and acted in the film “The List”. What was it like to be on different sets and play such different characters at such a young age?
It’s been really cool, because with each set and character I play in a different way, it’s a new experience that I take with me for life. And that’s the cool thing for an actor.

Even with your career growing, you are still a child with dreams and games. How do you balance your recording routine with studying and having fun?
With my mother’s help, I can set a schedule for everything. That way, we can fulfill our obligations and still have time to play.
Working with experienced actors can be a great learning experience. Do you have any advice or special moments you’ve had with a fellow cast member that you’ll never forget?
One moment when I had the pleasure of learning was at the “Dona de Mim” workshop, when Tony Ramos gave me advice on how to be a responsible and successful actor.

Each character you play has its own story, emotions and challenges. What do you enjoy doing most when you start preparing for a new role?
I like to study and reflect a lot.
With so many cool projects already completed, the public is curious to know what’s next. What is your biggest dream as an actor and what kind of character would you still love to play?
My biggest dream as an actor is to have stability in my life and help children with free theater, TV and film courses. I want to help those children who dream of being an actor but don’t have the means, just like I did. One character I still really want to play is the villain. I love dramatic and hectic scenes.
