After a one-year hiatus, Alivia Clark returns with “Breathless,” a single that signals a new chapter in her artistic journey by blending pop, EDM/House, and touches of R&B/Soul into a vibrant, sensual, and emotionally charged track. In this interview, the actress, singer, and songwriter reflects on this moment of reinvention, her desire to create music that makes audiences feel and let go, and the way she is stepping into a more feminine, authentic, and emotionally powerful artistic identity.

After a one-year hiatus, you return with “Breathless” marking a new phase in your journey. What does this release represent for you at this moment?

Breathless feels like the start of a completely new chapter for me. I spent that time performing live, writing constantly, and really figuring out the kind of artist I wanted to become, and through that I discovered my inner pop star. This release represents stepping fully into that vision, something more intentional, feminine, and authentic to who I am now. More than anything, I want my music to pull people into the moment and make them forget everything else for a few minutes. When the bass kicks in and the melodies hit, I just want people to dance, feel something, and let go.

“Breathless” blends pop, EDM/House, and touches of R&B/Soul. What was it like shaping that sonic identity for the song?

It was suchhh a fun adventure! It was about finding that balance where it feels danceable, but still really intimate and vocal-driven. That mix is a big part of this new era, creating something that feels emotional, immersive, and made for the moment.

The track explores desire, vulnerability, and power. What interested you most emotionally while creating this song?

What drew me in most emotionally was that feeling of really coming into your own and letting yourself fully blossom. I loved playing with that push and pull, that magnetic tension that builds as the track unfolds, while still keeping it playful and a little flirty! It has this naturally sultry, addictive energy that just pulls you in, and by the end you can’t really help but move to it.

You wrote “Breathless” on your own. What is your songwriting process like when you want to turn emotions into music?

For me, inspiration is everywhere. The sounds around me, my friends laughing, the guy who you thought broke your heart but only made you realize how strong you are. I just have to keep my eyes and ears open, and the music comes to me. I was sitting under the palm trees and hot sun in Miami, taking in the beautiful sights. I started writing instantly. I wrote the song in about 10 minutes. First a couple lines, and the catchy melody started to unfold. I knew pretty immediately that this song was special to me.

Alongside music, you also have an established career as an actress. How does acting influence the way you interpret and communicate your songs?

It helps me to be vulnerable and speak from the heart! Even if a song isn’t about one particular person, I always pull from moments in my life. I want my audience to be able to relate to me so they feel less alone. In the joy, and in the pain!

Your journey has taken you from stages like Carnegie Hall and Broadway to film, television, and voice work. How do you view the breadth of your artistic career today?

I see it as all connected, even if it looks really different on paper. Performing at those venues taught me discipline and storytelling, while film, television, and voice work helped me

understand character and emotion in a completely different way. Now, I feel like all of those experiences live in my music. They’ve shaped how I perform, how I write, and how I tell stories. And now I get to bring all of that into one space as an artist.

“Breathless” opens a new chapter, and you already have more releases planned for this year. What can audiences expect from this next phase of Alivia Clark?

Let’s just say I’m trying to live (and make music) by the motto, ‘dance it out’. That may even be a hint about the next song!
