From Music to Sports: Douglas Buiu Leads the Expansion of RR

*As the manager for Ronald and Milene Domingues, this executive’s career path is highlighted by Alfredo Soares in a report detailing the results of the company’s Miami operations and its future plans for the Brazilian market.*

At the helm of Rede Ronaldo (RR) as CEO and partner, Douglas Buiu was featured in a piece by Alfredo Soares that showcases the company’s recent performance in Miami—achieving a social media reach of over 1 billion in just 39 days. The account also traces Buiu’s professional journey, which saw him transition from music production to managing a platform dedicated to sports, gaming, music, and pop culture.

According to figures shared by Soares, the 5,000-square-meter venue welcomed more than 100,000 visitors during the period. Held in conjunction with the 2026 World Cup, the “Casa Rede Ronaldo” (Rede Ronaldo House) combined in-person programming, content production, and brand activations, effectively linking the on-site visitor experience with the distribution of content across social media channels.

Before entering this sector, Buiu built his career in the music industry. The “Frenesi” project was an early milestone in a path that encompassed production, event management, and artist partnerships. Buiu notes that he has been involved in over 3,000 productions, including work with major industry players like GR6 and KondZilla.

Among the projects Buiu cites are “Baile de Favela” and “Ilusão Cracolândia,” as well as collaborations with artists such as Alok, MC Don Juan, Léo Santana, Claudia Leitte, Ivete Sangalo, MC Hariel, and Livinho. This extensive background in the music industry preceded his move into managing the careers of individuals associated with the family of Ronaldo “Fenômeno” Nazário.

This connection was solidified through his role as the manager for Ronald and Milene Domingues. As noted in Soares’ report, Buiu took on the responsibility of overseeing their contracts, events, and public image. Their professional relationship evolved into a partnership that now places him in an executive leadership role at Rede Ronaldo, working alongside Ronald.

The project originated from Ronaldo TV—launched in 2021—and took on a new identity in the second half of 2025. Under the structure unveiled for this new phase, Ronald has assumed the role of president, while Buiu has taken on the position of CEO. The initiative now brings together various content streams and commercial projects under a single brand.

Among the next steps mentioned by Alfredo Soares is a plan to expand operations in Brazil by launching a sports broadcasting channel, covering a range of disciplines with a special focus on women’s soccer. The company has identified this as a key objective for its new phase of growth.

This progress also entails management changes. According to Soares, a structural review—conducted following the company’s participation in the “G4” program—resulted in the departure of four staff members. This reorganization is intended to prepare the team for the demands of the planned operations.

Music remains one of the executive’s areas of focus. Buiu also indicated that a project is in the works with Pedro Leonardo, son of the singer Leonardo. Specific details regarding the format and timeline for this project have not yet been disclosed.
