You are known as a psychic-medium and “Good Witch.” How did you start your journey into the world of the paranormal and magic? What were the first steps you took to develop your skills?
I was just Born This Way. As long as I could remember, I was talking to spirits on the other side. I just thought everyone could. I literally did my first seance when I was seven or eight years old in the hallway of my suburban Los Angeles home. I stuffed towels under the doors and realized that I really didn’t know any dead people so-called in every famous person and movie star I knew at 7 or 8 years old. Immediately, my dark windowless hallway filled with orbs and lights and shadows and I knew then that it was real and that it was something we can control. On the witchy side of things, from childhood as well, I would find myself in the backyard picking rosemary and mint and stuffing them in my mom’s wallets knowing that they would give her more money. She of course did not quite understand it at the time, thinking I was putting dirt in her wallet, but I said “No Mama, this is Money. It will bring you money.” Years later I study herbs and apothecary and I was doing all the right things from a magical perspective to bring more money to her. I think it’s just born inside of us. I really think it is in all of us, it just gets ignored and taught out of us in our western, non-mystical, modern society where all our focus is on left brain logic over intuition. I was about 13 when I became a “seeker” and started looking into spirituality, religion, philosophy, science and occult science to look for ways to understand and navigate these gifts I had.
Your work on the show “Ghost Adventures” brought a lot of attention to your work. How do you balance your role as a psychic-medium with the demands of a successful television show?
I’m a really good juggler! It’s not so much about Ghost Adventures, that’s usually only a couple episodes a season for the last nine years but the fact that I’m also on another television team Ghost Finders, and also own an international spirituality and mystery school called University Magickus and a streaming network called Paraflixx in between touring pretty consistently speaking and doing events. I have a passion for life that truly energizes me on a daily basis. I always say “I’ll sleep when I’m dead!” (But I know that’s not true either…. Probably even busier then!) Ha!
Your book “Old World Magick for the Modern World” was a best-seller. What was the inspiration behind the book, and what do you hope people learn from it?
My inspiration and desire was to bring a simple, easy to read, empowering book that could help people, no matter their belief system or ability to bringing magic to their day-to-day life to create a life they love. In working with people on a daily basis, I see how out of balance we all are and how much we’ve given away our power. This book gives you simple and quick techniques to get your power back, find balance and manifest. My main technique that inspired me for the book was my elemental balancing technique. I created a fast easy way to do it in 30 seconds when you don’t have an hour to meditate or focus. As stated above, I’m a busy girl. 🙂
You worked with many influencers and celebrities like Lilly Singh and LaurDIY. What was that experience like for you, and how do you bring magic and spirituality to such a diverse environment?
I love working with my celebrities and influencers. They really are exactly like us. They have the same fears and worries an imbalance that we all have so more than anything else, whether celebrity or not, I like seeing a little light bulb turn on in their thought process that there is an easier, more empowering way of looking at or doing things.
You mentioned that your specialty is adjusting energy and flow in people, spaces, and situations. How do you apply this skill in practice, and what are some of the most memorable experiences you’ve had?
It really is all about balance. And whatever our belief system religion, spiritual path or way of life, the one thing we all have in common is that we are sitting on this beautiful planet called earth. Mother earth herself, has all the energy, flow and balance we will ever need. I just show people how to harness that energy to empower and balance along the way. Everybody understands the strength of a tree with its deep roots and high branches, the flow of water, the expansion of air and sky and the solidity of the earth below. It’s tapping into these natural energies that will give us the balance and strength we need for our life on this beautiful planet. The most memorable experience I’ve had or witnessed are when people use these techniques and perspective to literally and physically change their life situations including their physical health.
Besides your work as a psychic-medium, you are also an actress and producer. How do your skills in acting and production influence your work in the paranormal field?
I think my training and experience as an actor, helps in tapping into that right brain intuition I need as a psychic medium. My experience and training and production, keeps me organized and professional. They all flow together beautifully.
Your podcast “The Witching Hour” and your new podcast “The Witch’s Movie Coven” have gained popularity. What do you hope to achieve with these podcasts, and how do they differ from your other work?
The Witching Hour is about inspiring and educating people in a fun, light and entertaining way. I have the most amazing guests every week from all paths and all around the world. The Witch’s Movie Coven is primarily for fun and entertainment with the side bonus of discussing and educating people on how witchcraft is portrayed in the media both the good, the bad and the ugly!
You’ve talked about the importance of creating a positive and safe environment for learning and growth. How do you maintain this positive approach when dealing with the paranormal and sensitive issues like spirituality?
I try to always come from my highest place and the highest vibration. Everything is perspective and we do have to live in the world we create and I choose to create a positive and safe world.
With your role at Brain Brew Entertainment, you produce live shows and events. How do theatrical production and interactive entertainment connect with your work as a psychic-medium?
It is really the same only going into a corporate world over the spiritual world. It is still about empowerment, perception whether it’s a seance in a haunted house or a custom created comedy song and dance extravaganza for a Fortune 500 company.
How do you see the future of psychic work and magic in television and entertainment? What trends do you expect to see in the coming years, and how might they influence your work?
I don’t see the paranormal going away in television and entertainment, because it’s not going away in our world. The way I see it, the veil between our world and the “other” world is thinning as we step into this “Age of Aquarius” they sang about in the 1960s. More and more paranormal things are happening worldwide and with technology it is getting captured on camera and with new tools and devices. It’s part of our world now so of course television, film and entertainment we’ll tap into that.
