MC J Mito is winning over European audiences with his first tour of the continent. After performing in Portugal and London, the funk singer has been welcomed with packed houses and an infectious energy, consolidating Brazilian funk on the international scene. The singer, who has already had several hits in Brazil, is now celebrating the recognition of his work abroad and is preparing to take the rhythm to new European cities.

The reception from fans in Europe has been warm, with packed houses and lots of interaction. How have you felt this energy on stage and how has this response from the audience motivated you during the shows?

Honestly, I had no idea how much the European audience embraces me. Hearing them sing the entire repertoire blew me away — the energy was enough to make the hairs stand on end! Seeing them waiting for me to go on stage has definitely been my biggest inspiration.

Seeing European audiences singing your songs must be exciting. When you started your career, did you imagine that Brazilian funk would have such an international reach?

Honestly, I didn’t expect it in Brazil, let alone here in Europe. I’m very grateful to funk for making this dream possible.

Connecting with the audience has been one of the highlights of this tour. How have you managed to create this connection with the fans, even with cultural and language differences?

Today I can say that my fans go beyond music. They follow me in everything I do and post, and I think this blogging side makes all the difference! We really feel more connected.

Brazilian funk has been gaining more and more space on the international scene. Do you believe that the success of this tour is a reflection of the global growth of the genre? What elements of your music do you think most appeal to international audiences?

In a short time here, I discovered that they love Brazil, funk and our culture. Foreigners have been trying funk for a long time now, and that’s why Phonk exists today , a genre they created inspired by Brazilian beats. Without a doubt, the style they listen to the most today is funk from Belo Horizonte, which is exactly the style I excel at.

The tour is just starting, and you’ve already been to Portugal and London with great success. Is there a city or country you’re most looking forward to performing in? What can the audience expect from these upcoming shows?

Switzerland is the country I’m most looking forward to visiting. I heard it’s pretty cold there, but that won’t be a problem because we’ll melt on stage giving the best performance of our lives! So, you can expect the best show in the world.

Besides the shows, did you have time to explore some of the cities you visited? Do you have any memorable experiences off stage that you would like to share?

The rush of the tour doesn’t allow me to go on many adventures, but I confess that I’ve been visiting some restaurants in Lisbon that I’m loving. I tried a typical dish here called Bifano , which is delicious and reminds me a lot of Brazil.

Taking Brazilian funk to the world is a huge responsibility. How do you see your role in the internationalization of this genre and what legacy do you hope to leave with this tour?

Setting foot here in Europe is already a great legacy for those who come from where I came from. Just like the relics who broke barriers for funk to get where it is, I will follow my role and deliver the best so that more and more artists come here.

The energy of this tour is clearly inspiring you. Have you come up with any new ideas or plans for future projects based on this international experience?

Yes, of course! In fact, I’m recording the audiovisual for my album here in Europe… Good things are coming!
