The Brasília-based band Rock do Reino will release their EP “Te Obedecer” on February 20, 2026, through Marã Música, solidifying their mission to unite the energy of pop punk with a Christian message lived outside of traditional norms. In an interview, the group discusses their creative process, marked by reflection and dedication, their search for a vibrant sound inspired by hard rock and American pop punk, and their desire to show that faith can be intense, authentic, and connected to the present. More than just a new work, the EP represents an artistic and spiritual manifesto for a generation that wants to live their beliefs with truth and action.

The EP “Te Obedecer” was born from moments of deep reflection. What was happening in your lives, as a band and as individuals, during this creative process?

It was precisely at the moment when our musical career was becoming more professional.

You talk a lot about living your faith intensely and without rigid patterns. At what point did you realize you wanted to bring that message into rock music?

When we realize that Christianity isn’t about fitting into molds, but about going against the grain.

Your proposal is to show that serving God can be something alive, vibrant, and relevant today. What kind of personal transformation has faith already brought about in each of you?

The greatest transformation is living each experience with intention.

As a project that started in 2025, its growth has been rapid and full of meaning. What was it like to see something so personal take shape and begin to reach other people?

It’s incredible to be a part of people’s lives like this, and to realize that each person experiences (and feels) the lyrics from their own perspective.

Pop punk and hard rock bring a very strong energy to the music. How do you balance this sonic intensity with such a profound spiritual message?

The energy of rock music resonates beautifully with the profound depth of the Gospel.

The name “Te Obedecer” (To Obey You) carries an idea of surrender. For you, what does it mean, in practice, to live this surrender in your daily lives, offstage?

Surrendering to God is like going down a toboggan; you only get hurt when you try to put your arm out to slow down.

You define yourselves as imperfect and surrendered people. How does this more human view of faith influence your lyrics and the way you connect with your audience?

We are as much in need of God’s grace as anyone else; this helps us to see everyone from a horizontal perspective.

If someone were to listen to the EP during a difficult time in their life, what feeling or message would you most like them to take away from that experience?

Jesus is the answer to all questions!
