Alex Cohen, renowned Brazilian singer, musician and composer, is about to release a new work that promises to shake up his fan bases. Known for his unique and striking interpretations of Brazilian music classics, Cohen now opts for a completely original approach. The album, which hits the main digital platforms on June 28, will feature remixed versions of her biggest hits, including hits like “Menina Sereia” and “Um Minuto”.

The initiative to remix his own compositions appears as a celebration of Cohen’s career, who has collaborated with icons such as Chitãozinho and Xororó, Roupa Nova, among others. The project also features a new composition, expanding the artist’s already established repertoire.

In parallel with the album’s release, Alex Cohen is preparing additional surprises for his followers. The production of music videos for the new versions of the songs is underway, promising great visual moments to complement fans’ listening experience.

The vibrant phase of Alex Cohen’s career is reflected not only in new musical productions, but also in his current tour “Tamo Junto Na Festa”, which has toured different cities in Rio de Janeiro, reinforcing his connection with the public in live performances. .

With more than 25 years of experience, Alex Cohen continues to be an influential figure in Brazilian music, with hits that cross musical genres and reach not only the radio, but also soundtracks for global soap operas and special projects such as “Um Barzinho, Um Guitar”.

Alex, your new work features remixed versions of great hits and two new compositions. How did the idea of making this dance release come about?

In fact, the idea of doing the remixes came from my partner in the songs, Walmir Barroso, who planned to have our songs in a dance format, since I throw a lot of parties around Brazil. Being able to mix the great classics with danceable original music was the main objective.

The songs already have an established fan base. What was the process like of transforming these hits into more dancefloor-oriented versions?

The process was to invite a great DJ from the dance floor to produce this work. We then invited Daniel Goulart who had already produced two remixes for me to sing. We were very happy with the result because it updated our songs even more.

“Menina Sereia” and “So Fica” are highlighted as the main bets on this album. What do these songs represent to you and why did you choose to focus on them?

“Menina Sereia” already has over a million streams on Spotify and “So Fica” was composed with the track in mind and that’s why they were the great insights of this work.

You’re working on music videos to accompany these new versions. Can you tell us a little about what we can expect from these productions?

The clips are being made based on the plots of each song by a team already accustomed to remixes. They chose to include large sets instead of having my face like in most of the clips. They all tell a respective story.

What was it like collaborating with DJ Daniel Goulart on this remix project?

I met Daniel Goulart through an invitation for me to voice 2 remixes of great classics for him. We liked the result so much that my partner Walmir Barroso decided to call him to produce this new project.

Walmir Barroso, his partner in composing the songs, suggested the idea of releasing it as a remix. What was this creative process like together?

In reality, I was taken by surprise because I never imagined themed songs like “Verde É A Vida”, “Atacama”, “Entre Nós” and “Não Quero Mais” in a track format. I tried to add a voice respecting the themes, but giving it some salt to make it happier for the track. These remixes were even tested in spinning classes.

The “Tamo Junto Na Festa” tour is underway in Rio de Janeiro. How has the public reception been so far?

It’s been incredible to be able to take a mix of hits tested at shows to the municipalities. Everyone dances, everyone sings and celebrates these great classics with me.

With more than 25 years of career, you have collected successes and participation in renowned projects. What still motivates you to continue exploring new sounds and formats?

Firstly, the love for music. I think every singer should try to get out of their comfort zone and experiment, but always seeking to win the hearts of the public. Change brings freshness to work and people feel this change clearly. I am a composer, I am a performer and I seek to entertain the public with the tools I have, which is my main objective.

His songs have already been recorded by renowned artists. What’s it like to see your compositions come to life in the voices of other artists?

It is one of the greatest emotions to be able to hear our creation in the voices of singers we admire so much. Still having the opportunity to do duets like with Roupa Nova and live with Chitãozinho and Xororó in São Paulo, was incredible. It is another form of recognition for our work.

Looking ahead, what can fans expect from Alex Cohen? Are there any new projects or collaborations you would like to share with us?

The objective is to improve my authorial work in parallel with the performing side of the parties. Expand our range of action to other states in Brazil and even outside the country, due to the scope of the repertoire that contains several languages.
