The 30-year-old actress Hana Kolodny from Rio Grande do Sul is gaining prominence in the artistic scene with her rise in theater and television. After participating in the acclaimed series “Reis”, on Record, Hana is the protagonist of the play “Lotte Zweig: A Mulher Silenciada”, where she plays Charlotte, wife of the writer Stefan Zweig. The play, directed by Carlos Vereza, consecrated her with a nomination for the 19th APTR Young Talent Award 2025.
The play, which will be on display in June, addresses the mysterious death of Lotte and her husband in 1942 in Petrópolis. The real story takes on new dimensions on stage, with a possible murder theory linked to the Third Reich and the Estado Novo dictatorship. Hana, who has always valued constant improvement, celebrates her nomination as a true turning point in her career, highlighting her commitment to work and her personal values.
You grew up surrounded by art in Porto Alegre, the daughter of a ballerina — and today you’re following your own path on stage and TV. When did you realize that you also wanted to make art your destiny?
Ever since I can remember, maybe since I first performed in Ballet when I was 4 years old, I refused to leave the stage and started the choreography again after it was over.
The nomination for the APTR Young Talent Award for playing Lotte Zweig marked a turning point in your career. How did it feel to receive such an important recognition and what does it mean to you at this point in your career?
It was one of the happiest days of my life, and a big surprise. Sometimes life is a blessing, as Fernanda Torres would say. In this profession, we get 99% of no’s and 1% of yes’s, if we are lucky, or if we try hard. I tried hard and someone witnessed it. I feel honored, very grateful and with more strength to continue improving in my profession.

In “Lotte Zweig: The Silenced Woman,” you bring to life a real character who spent decades in the shadow of a great literary figure. What was the process like of delving into Lotte’s story and giving a voice to this woman who history had almost erased?
It is a journey to get to know Lotte Zweig, to give her a voice. Carlos Vereza provided me with all the material he could to help me get into the context of the play. We traveled to Petrópolis and visited the bungalow where Zweig lived and died . But what really immerses me in Lotte is the way she looks in the photos, and the obvious affection and devotion she conveys for her husband, Stefan.
You share the stage with Carlos Vereza, a legend of Brazilian theater and TV — and you are also directed by him. How has this exchange with such an experienced artist been and what have you absorbed most from this partnership?
Having this legendary figure as a director, mentor and colleague is an immeasurable honor. Vereza is very kind, he taught me a lot in a short time, about life, theater, acting, history, literature. He is incredibly intelligent, an intellectual, an artist in everything he does and says. I absorb everything I can, I try to see through his lens, but it is a process. I learn a lot every day from him.

The show raises profound questions about silence, female invisibility and even historical conspiracies. Did these themes resonate with you personally? Was there something about the character’s development that touched you emotionally?
Of course. Lotte hurts me a lot. Both because of the discrimination she suffered and because she was not valued as she would like by her husband, and because she felt she had to work harder than she could to get any opportunity. There is no one who is not moved by Lotte.
In addition to theater, you also appeared in the series “Reis”, one of Record’s most acclaimed. What was it like to transition between this grand television universe and the intimacy of the stage?
Seriella ‘s work and since I started working as an actress I wanted an opportunity at the network, because of the stories full of values that they represent, and with which I have a lot of affinity. It was a wonderful season, both in terms of results and in the process, in the relationships. Everything is done with care and perfection.

You mentioned that your career is marked by preparation and the constant search for evolution. What studies, practices or rituals are part of your process as an actress?
I have dedicated myself to many different methods until I compiled my current “ritual”, which includes physical, vocal and mental warm-ups. I have attended many acting schools, the ones that have helped me the most are studying Balinese masks, rasabox and the Grotowski method .
Now that you are living this special moment in your career, between nominations and prominent roles, what artistic dreams do you still want to fulfill — and what stories do you feel you need to tell as an actress?
I really want to be part of another soap opera. It’s incredible to feel the character growing over a long period of time. I also want to have an opportunity in the movies. Our cinema will continue to grow a lot more and I want to be part of that. Every story deserves to be told, every story is valid.
