Known worldwide as the co-founder, guitarist, and vocalist of MAGIC!, Mark Pelli continues to expand his musical journey with releases that highlight his artistic identity beyond the band. A multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, and producer born in Toronto, Pelli currently splits his time between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, building a career defined by versatility and international acclaim.
Pelli first gained global recognition with MAGIC!’s breakout hit “Rude,” which achieved Diamond certification and became an international phenomenon following its 2014 release. The song spent six consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and remains one of the defining pop hits of the decade.
Beyond his work with MAGIC!, Mark Pelli has established himself as a respected songwriter and producer, collaborating with some of the music industry’s biggest names, including Chris Brown, J. Cole, Shakira, Anthony Hamilton, Trey Songz, and Sabrina Claudio. His songwriting credits include J. Cole’s “Kevin’s Heart,” which reached the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100, and Chris Brown’s “Don’t Judge Me,” which became a Top 10 hit on the R&B Songs chart.
Demonstrating his wide-ranging artistic abilities, Pelli has also recorded music in multiple languages, including Italian and Mandarin. He has released five Chinese-language songs through Sony China, further expanding his reach across international markets and connecting with audiences around the world.
Through his solo work, Mark Pelli has embraced a sound rooted in vintage soul and Motown influences while maintaining a fresh, contemporary approach. His single “She’s Got What I Need” was featured on seven Spotify New Music Friday playlists globally, and many of his compositions have been licensed for films and Netflix productions.
His latest release, “Gotta Let Her Go,” continues that creative direction. Released in April 2026, the track tells the fictional and lighthearted story of a relationship that falls apart because one partner repeatedly says their ex’s name while asleep. Beneath its humorous premise, the song explores relatable themes of insecurity, emotional baggage, and the challenge of letting go, all wrapped in a warm, soul-inspired arrangement that reflects Pelli’s signature style.
The single follows “Pack It Up,” released in February 2025, which earned a place in MAGIC!’s live set and was performed by Pelli at the Motoweek Festival in front of an audience of approximately 50,000 people.
In addition to his recording career, Mark Pelli continues to perform internationally while leading workshops and masterclasses around the globe. Off the road, he is an active music educator, teaching guitar, piano, bass, and voice, and holds a residency at Rhythm Room LA.
With “Gotta Let Her Go,” Mark Pelli once again demonstrates his ability to move effortlessly between genres and creative roles, delivering music that blends technical excellence, timeless influences, and an increasingly distinctive artistic voice.
